Has anyone ever been to Luxor recently? Or does anyone know anything about the area?

Going away with the lads but the missus wants to go away in June to Egypt with me mate and his bird. But we have heard its dangerous for us Britons to go?

I have read up on the masscre in 1997, but is it really dangerous to go there?

Any info will be greatly appreciated.

british embassy Cairo

Says there's still a high risk in Luxor, Rafa. Probably not as dangerous as a Saturday night out in Blackpool but still dangerous.

I have been to luxor.

Its a great place for site-seeing, if you like to see old temples, statues, artifacts and stuff like that.

but other than that, its average, went to the market there, they are a good bunch but liars and rip-offs!  :D
