Was thinking about this quote this afternoon in the boozer no less.  Brilliant.

Marge: Homer, is this how you pictured married life?
Homer: Yeah, pretty much, except we drove around in a van solving mysteries.

Classic also:

Homer: Lisa, would you like a donut?
Lisa: No thanks. Do you have any fruit?
Homer: This has purple in it. Purple is a fruit

Marge: Homer! There's someone here who can help you...
Homer: Is it Batman?
Marge: No, he's a scientist.
Homer: Batman's a scientist?!
Marge: It's not Batman!

Homer: Got any of that beer that has candy floating in it? You know, Skittlebrau?
Apu: Such a beer does not exist, sir. I think you must have dreamed it.
Homer: Oh. Well, then just give me a six-pack and a couple of bags of Skittles.

And my fav

Homer: I saw this in a movie about a bus that had to speed around a city, keeping its speed over fifty and if its speed dropped, it would explode! I think it was called ... "The Bus That Couldnt Slow Down."

According to Google (sorry for cheating), there's a CHL reference in "Black Widower": the episode where Selma marries Sideshow Bob.

I think Sideshow Bob is picking up garbage along the roadside as part of a prison chain gang and there's an image of the guard with reflective sunglasses tapping his billy club against his leg, just like the scene in the movie.

Is that the one you're thinking of?

Luke's question has raised an interesting sidebar to this thread...what are people's favourite movie references in The Simpsons?

I like the references to "The Graduate" in the one where Grampa Simpson is dating Marge's mother:

"Mrs. Bouvier!! Mrs. Bouvier!!"

[The Lawyer whispers again.]
Homer: Refuse to answer on the grounds that I what? [pause] Inseminate myself?!?! [then, to the judge] Dude, I think this guy's coming on to me!
Lawyer: [stands up and yells to Homer] You, sir, are a moron!
Homer: A mormon? But I'm from Earth!

When Bart and Lisa are best mates
Groundskeeper Willie : It won't last. Brothers and sisters are natural enemies. Like Englishmen and Scots! Or Welshmen and Scots! Or Japanese and Scots! Or Scots and other Scots! Damn Scots! They ruined Scotland! :D

Seen another favourite moment of mine tonight lol. When they're waiting to go on a holidays and Homer is acting all jamaican :D :D

The old episodes are so funny - my favourite line is when Homer says to Bart"don't judge somebody from where they come from, thats what they do in Russia"

Last 5 years aren't that good though, just wacky stories, no wit anymore. Conan O'Brien used to write to them but their whole team changed. Don't watch the new ones.

I agree with the old vs new argument, I can watch old reruns over and over and not get tired of them, they have gone downhill since 2001 - a lot more lowbrow.
