For all the talk of boxing in here, I can't believe no one has mentioned Micky Ward Vs Arturo Gatti. They fought three times, and each one was a war. Both boxers sustained over 200 punches in the third fight and still walked away. Many say these fights are the best of all time. They just stood toe-to-toe and beat the f*ck out of each other for 10 rounds. Amazing.

Watch this. This is how the fight went for most rounds.

How ALL boxing fights should be.

Calzaghe is the real deal, ten years as champion and undefeated.  He has run from nobody.  His main problem is he shuns the limelight and just wants to box and hang around his hometown.

And his hands arent the best, if they were he would bang more people out.  This guy is really proper.  Quiet yes but that doesnt mean he is not a great fighter, just ask the Yanks.

I remember watching Ali as a kid and that was a real family affair, with everybody in my family in my Uncles house.

Other events I remember as a kid and older

Dennis Taylor in the snooker
Any Welsh rugby victory
Benn Eubank
Tyson when he came on the scene, awesome.
Daley Thompson in LA
South Africa in rugby WC.  The new rainbow nation, Mandela etc it was just meant to be them and Im glad it was.
France New Zealand 1999, best game ever
England winning the WC, Martin Johnson legend.
Red Rum
The 1988 Olympic 100 metres then the drugs fallout
The Ashes 1981
And Eddie the Eagle, Ok no good on the world stage but if you have ever stood at the top of one of those jumps you realise the bloke had balls.

*Any mountain afternoon in the tour the france, I still remember the duels between Indurain and the fierce attacks of Marco Pantani and Toni Rominger

*Any race of my childhood idol Nigel Mansell.

* When Spain was world champion of handball in 2005, a sport that I think it's very unknown in England but that I practised for years and I love.

* When the dream team of Basketball, the real one, the first and last one, came and had a walk in 1992, with Magic Johnson. I doubt such a level of basketball will be reached in the future, nowadays NBA stars are not that good.

This 5 men were simply invincible.
