What a different scenario we could've been in at this point in time if hodgson had still been liverpool boss, we'd of been gearing up for Championship footie and needing a new boss.

Good appointment by FA though, England are welcome to him

I cannot comprehend why the FA see him as a good candidate, he's had two high profile clubs and done nothing of note, the FA are a laughing stock
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Amazing decision, if true. As an outsider, your manager now matches the talent, hope expectation follows.
English FA had the golden goblet, it's now owned by the Spanish FA, given up without a fight. You now have the wooden cod piece.
The world is laughing.

Woy? ;)

As an Englishman, i can't say i'm happy with Roy being given the job. Capello had his faults, but he was a class manager.

The press and public will turn on poor old Roy very quickly if he fails.

Id say he hopes France won't knock 6 past them, beating Sweden would be a Utopia and Ukraine will be a formidable opponent.
If they fail to win he'll probably be critical of Englands famous support.

England's national team has been lying in the gutter for the past forty four years.

Well they tried to get one of club football's best managers to turn England's fortunes around and he failed drastically.

The FA cannot afford to hire a class manager because of Wembley. Who knows, with Roy in charge he may, just may give the captaincy to Gerrard and play him in his most effective role. If he does that, he may be the best coach we have had for England in years !

Nah, John Terry will have the captaincy and the coaching role - Hodgson will be his yes man. The two deserve each-other.

Hodgson is a manager who can take a club at the bottom of the league, play a 4-5-1, and steal some points from the bigger clubs.  He tried to be too defensive with us, and it didn't work.  I don't think it will work with England either.  International is different and I could be wrong, but I just don't see it happening with England.

Set us back another 5 years I'm afraid. Unfortunately the FA don't actually want to win anything.
