Last summer when he was crying to leave like a spoiled kid and then made a 180 degree turn because of what Brendan said to him. I am extremely curious on what Brendan told him though we may never know unless he or Brendan discloses it all in their autobiography one day when they retire.

I think the club basically told him that he wasn't going anywhere at any price so he may as well knuckle down and try and get us into the CL (which he did).
that won't really be an option this time round.

My only worry is Real or Barca. If they come in, I think we will have a problem on our hands . Real and Barca are a big draw for South American players and he is at an age now where the opportunity to play for one of them may not come around again. With both of them missing out on the league, they may be looking to add another marquee signing and Suarez is the hottest striker out there. Barca have that transfer ban so that may rule them. If he ended up at Real, him, Ronaldo and Bale would be a truly frightening attack. Not too fussed about City, PSG as I can't see that kind of move ever happening

If Real bidded £100mil for Suarez, should we consider letting him go and strengthen the rest of the squad?

Sure Suarez can get you 20~30 goals a season but then again there are no guarantees. What if he's injured, lost form or got suspended? Will it be wiser to spread our squad strength across the field rather than keep hold of an undoubted talent like Luis? Of course it would be great if we can keep Luis and have a £100m budget for new players but we don't...hence we have to prioritise. That said, a £190mil budget (£100m for Luis, £60m new investment + £30m from sale) will do wonder for us to have key players across the field, and spread the goals around? :buttrock

I though he should have won that outright because he have played less game and not taken the 6 penalties like what Ronaldo did

Some people were naively suggesting that we should have sold him last summer for £40m and used the money as a platform to rebuild the team. I suggested at the time that if he had a good season and a good World Cup that he could be worth £70m or more. Several people suggested that was rubbish due to his "damaged goods" reputation and failed to accept that a year is a long time in football which it certainly has proved to be !!! £70m would now be a very cheap price for the genius that is Luis Suarez.

Personally I would not currently sell him for a £100m. It actually sounds like a sensible idea in principle to cash in and buy a replacement for say £50m and use the balance to strengthen the team. Spurs is a good example of how the plan can go wrong. Suarez is unique and the key reason we have improved so rapidly. He has qualities that money simply cannot buy.
Net Spend Over The Last 5 Years 20/21 to 24/25  (10 years
are in brackets 15/16 to 24/25 )
LFC €300m (€420m)
Everton +€33m (€211m)
Arsenal €557m (€853m)
Spurs €571m (€684m)
Chelsea €945m (€1051m)
Man City €370m (€1038m)
Man United €687m (€1240m)
