He looked heartbroken at full time (as did many players, but more so) Anyone thinks he may still want to go in the summer?

Wondered the same myself mate. Luis knows that there are too many very average players in this squad and that might just affect his decision. We need to do things very quickly when the transfer window opens.

You've been absolutely down my neck for saying we have to many average players this season then you come out with that?

Has it really taken tonight result to make you realise?

Suarez has turned this side from a 6th/7th place team, to a title challenger on his own with his ridiculous displays this year.

Players like Skrtel, Mignolet and Johnson aren't going to win you leagues, over 38 games, their lack of quality will cost you, even if you have a player up the other end who's going to be directly responsible for 50 goals this season.

Gotta say this kind of posts irritate me...We Sign players for Liverpool success and not for Luis satisfaction. I'm not holding my breath for ANY player's decision if to stay or not. Luis had a GREAT season but he is far from perfect ,he is no Messi ,and he still has a lot to improve in his game.

I feel the same as Luis does. But what a season and its not over yet although we blew it tonight I think there's another twist to happen before the seasons over. But the best thing is CL football next season and we are being taken seriously again. WE GO AGAIN

And its this kind of post that completely irritates me.

If we sign players of the required standard one of the best players in the world is more than likely going to want to stay here. What seem to not realise is how good Luis is and how important he is to this side. As for saying he's no Messi, you're right, Messi and Ronaldo are absolutely freaks of the game and right up there with the best ever, Suarez is however the best player this club has ever had and he's easily the third best player in world football. If you think he can be replaced easily then you're extremely mistaken.

The lad makes Tevez (who's a fabulous player) look like a donkey by comparison.

Leave Mignolet alone for now please...I do agree with you that I think Bergovic is a better keeper but Mig is not the serious piece of jigsaw that need replacing now. Not looking to see either Johnson & Skrtel next season tho   :nod

No sooner has LFC's title chances being slashed that the garbage papers started speculating on Luis leaving us.

We know how good he is and how important he is to the team...but would like to know if any of you will stand another off-season of him throwing tantrums and wanting to leave the club?

Will a £100M bid from Madrid temp the owners to sell?  :(

I don't think that will happen Santa. If he wants to go I think his contract will make it very difficult for the club to stop him. There will be no spurious clauses this time !! I also firmly believe that his behaviour last summer went a very long way towards our success this season. He certainly woke up a few sleeping minds and that was no bad thing. I also think he is mentally (well until last night) in a much better place. It will be an interesting summer.

As for not building the team around Suarez I would simply add that Spurs probably said the same thing about Bale! He is a phenomenal talent and last night he showed just what winning means to him. I would have like to have seen the same reaction from every single player. Very easy to ignore what we have got - UNTIL IT HAS GONE !!!!

If Suarez goes at least we are building from a position of relative strength, a second place finish and CL footy will allow us to attract better players than finishing 7th or 8th would.
He has been simply phenomenal for us but if he really wants to fulfil some sort of South American dream of playing for Madrid or Barcelona then good luck to him, £70m or anything like that for a player who will be 28 next season would be very good business from the clubs point of view, it certainly wouldn't be like when we lost Mcmanaman and Owen (who were top players at the time) for a pittance.
I don't think the key to our success is down to one individual player I think it's down to the managers philosophy, some of the best football I've ever seen out of a Liverpool team was at the end of last season when Suarez was banned, the 6-0 drubbing of Newcastle springs to mind.
Obviously we all want him to stay, if we keep Luis and add a couple of big names I think we could go close to winning the CL next year, I think a lot of these teams are overhyped to f##k.
But the main thing for me is Rodgers, give him time and money and I think he'll get it right.

I can't see him being sold unless Rogers and FSG think it's in the interest of their long term plans to do so. I don't know though if there was anything in the new contract that allows him a get out if a figure is met. Suarez is important to any future success so it's vital we do everything possible to keep him, which includes signing other top quality players. With the world cup looming transfer talk will ramp up anyway and last nights events will only throw fuel on the fire. We need to move quickly to sign good players. Doing so will send a signal to him and other top players at the club that we mean business and that it's in their interest to hang around.
