I'd love to see both Messi and Ronaldo in the Premiership and see just how many goals they would score. The bottom ten teams in La Liga would do well to survive in our Championship league
Net Spend Over The Last 5 Years 20/21 to 24/25  (10 years
are in brackets 15/16 to 24/25 )
LFC €300m (€420m)
Everton +€33m (€211m)
Arsenal €557m (€853m)
Spurs €571m (€684m)
Chelsea €945m (€1051m)
Man City €370m (€1038m)
Man United €687m (€1240m)

Ronaldo's played in this league and excelled, playing some games as a winger. As for the lower sides in La Liga I'm sorry but are you for real? You're looking at it purely from a physical point of view. Tactically and technically they're nearly all far superior. Can you imagine any team in the premier league outside the top five or six passing a ball out from the back?

I don't think there is any chance of him winning that to be honest.

Messi and Ronaldo are ridiculously good players and while Suarez is not a million miles off, I think he'd need to go up another level to achieve it.

If Suarez had blistering pace like the other two, I think he'd do it. Unfortunately for him, he'll have to settle for being the third best player in the world for the rest of his career.

I'm not saying that he's better than them, but the ballon d'or is awarded for the best player in a single year. Suarez, who plays in a far more difficult league, has better records (goals and assists) than both Messi and Ronaldo, who haven't been at their best this season (provided they were both injured for some time). Also, people are tired of seeing the same winners over and over, so FIFA might be under pressure to make a change. They almost did with the last Ballon d'or that almost went to Ribery, a player not even close to the level of these three.

Suarez has been breaking all kinds of records this season and if we win the league he will be seen as a man who single-handedly made a 7th placed team into champions (although that's not true). That's very much Ballon d'or material for me. Not saying that he's better than those two, but keep in mind, this award is given to the best player of a single season, not for his entire career.

That is exactly true, also he would need to have an exceptional world cup then set the champions league on fire while Messi, Ronaldo, Robben and Lahm all pick up injuries. Ribery isn't even the best player at his club, let alone the best in Europe.

Who's said he wasn't any of those things?

Possibly the most annoying footballer ever...

But still one of the best players to ever play the game.

If he was sold last summer and without him in this campaign we would be fighting with Everton and Arsenal to finish 4th but with him in the side we're title contenders. This shows how valuable he is to Liverpool.

I'm starting to worry a little bit that we will lose Suarez this summer. He has completely repaired his image, top scorer, lots of assists, hard worker, easily the most creative player in England, will be player of the season, not injury prone and most important he is a winner.

Every club in Europe who can afford him will be lining up in the summer. Is his charm offensive genuine or instructions from his agent to make him more attractive to big spenders. I'd like to think there is a part of Luis that is truly geniune to our cause and it's the support of everyone at LFC and his family that got him to calm down and not his agent trying to make him more saleable.

If Suarez is just acting the part of a happy Liverpudlian it's a clean sweep oscar winning performance with his achievements this season.

I know this is a ***** topic to bring up at this time but I'm already looking forward to next season.

Anyway hope he gets the all time record for a single season and bangs in a few against City!

Love the guy but annoyed the hell out of me today. Should have been off for a scandalous dive and spent most of the time throwing himself all over the place.

Different class for the first goal though.

I thought he was awful today. Apart from the assist he did nothing right. Sturrdige was bad as well but what ***** me off about Suarez is that he always tried to win fouls or hand balls instead of just concentrating on playing football. Jesus Christ man, leave the refereeing to the ref and do your job instead of diving and shouting handball all the time. Could have costed us the game if he got sent off.

As great as Suarez is he is not above a bit of constructive criticism, no player is.
Damjan is right, plenty of refs would have sent Suarez off there today, wether Dimichaelis caught him or not that triple salco with pike would have been enough to convince a lot of refs that he was acting the goat.
A player can actually try too hard and start forcing things and I think Suarez was pretty near crossing that line today.

I was cursing him the whole game expecting a red to be shown at anytime but you know what, If that is what it takes to win, so be it. Man U didn't win titles by playing honorably, Chelsea with a diving Dogba?

It's a dirty game and Suarez with his bag of tricks will be the difference between finishing 3rd and 1st

Was horrible in the game. Was really fearful that the ref would get sick of his antics and send him off. We couldn't have that as his presence alone keeps any team on their back foot. If he wasn't diving, he was  arguing with the City players or the ref. Hopefully he gets his head sorted and hi mojo back against Norwich.
