Luis Suarez signs for Barcelona

International Football/Football World Wide - General Discussion

The club has always managed to replace stars when they leave - dating back to the days of Tosh and Keegan all the way through to Torres going - fortunately at that time we were able to attract the top players through our standing in the game.

Currently our standing in the game is low and these players won't look at us without CL football or the ability to pay high wages or fees ! If we don't offer big fees and wages we won't replace Suarez with sufficent quality

That's a statement in poor taste IMO. I've had enough with Suarez's histrionics and his saying that 'no one stood by him' in the interview did it for me. You can't question the loyalty of fans who've had enough with Suarez and the disrepute he's brought to the club.

so quickly we've had enough and nothing is confirmed yet. I choose to continue to adore our faulty genius.

@pkelso: Important bit: "I don't have any offer yet. I don't know when I will leave or even if I will finally leave or if I will stay." #LFC

@pkelso: "The club knows what I think and what I want. I don't know what will happen but I have a contract. If I stay, I will do my best here." #lfc

@pkelso: "But I don't think that will happen because of all the bullying from the press against me. And the team is aware of everything." #LFC

Surely we could have asked for a bit more than 40mill on the buyout clause. This is just poor business on our behalf, hence why I'm so angry at this.

the club probably did well to get suarez to agree to £40m (which is a hell of a lot of money), dont forget suarez and his advisors wanted that fee to be as low as possible.

can't fault your assessment, but you might want to sprinkle some optimism is your post's occasionally, just so the few remaining members on this forum don't slit their wrists. thanks

Mirror "Live" reporting (13:21) that he has explicitly said on Uruguayan TV that he will leave Liverpool, but not clear when and which interview he said it in (as the same comment also refers to yesterday's interview that wasn't so explicit)

Umm - we have bought a 25 year old unknown from
Spain ?

We still have Coutinho ?

It's quite hard to find something to be optimistic currently

another problem is buying foreign players......British players have less chance of leaving British clubs to head to Spain/Italy  or Germany.
it does happen but not as often.
South American (spanish speaking) players see Barca/Real as the pinnacle.
could the door be opened for Torres to return as Jose will want big signings for his Chelsea front line?

The club WE are loyal to will still be here!

Loyal to what?

Mediocrity.

Accept that our best players get pillaged every season and we sink into oblivion.

Do some of you honesty needed to be reminded of who the f*ck WE ARE?!?!??

LIVERPOOL FC.

The moment we accept this s**t, then we don't stand for anything.

Ok Mr. Liverpool, what should we do when a player constantly tries to sully our name, is lying out of his ***** saying he wants to leave because he feels uncomfortable because of the paparazzi in Liverpool (?! compared to Madrid??), has brought so many moments of shame and disrepute to the club?

Do you still suck up to him, increasing his wages and tolerate his antics? Or do you say you've had enough, and remain confident that no one is bigger than the club - sell him and find a good replacement. We've done it every single time with our strikers, and we'll do it again.

I didn't want to be dragged into a debate because YOU are clearly the peanut I was referring to on earlier posts.

Suarez hasn't gone out of his way to sully our name, I stood by him on the "racism" sham because that's exactly what it was a f**king circus led by the ringmaster Whiskey Nose.

Racism? Here is a tissue princess. Do you want to know what real racism is.......

http://www.smh.com.au/world/fascists-hijacking-soldiers-murder-20130531-2ng0a.html

If you are too idiotic to understand the difference between a stupid man referring to Evra as "negro" on the field in his native tongue as compared to a bunch of wackos that want to kick off WWIII then really there is no point explaining what you should be "so insulted about". 8 games for that s**t while John "The Brave Heart Lion" Terry calls another player a "black c**t" and gets a slap on wrist with 4 games. Suarez has EVERY right to be angry and the injustice of it all. He isn't lying about anything, it's their plain to see in front of your f**king nose.

Yes he was once again stupid for the biting incident, but 10 games! F**k me silly, of course you would leave, who can blame him. Oliver Khan did a similar thing a few years ago and so did Defoe. Guess what punishment they got?

As for your comments on Torres before, this is what he had to say upon leaving us:

"But I can say I am a Chelsea player now and I am sure I am doing a bigger step forward in my career to join a club like Chelsea. I want to be at the level that I am supposed to stay."

Yeah real hero he was.

Whereas Suarez has commented on the following, just a few hours ago:

http://www.ovaciondigital.com.uy/liverpool-suarez-burlas-mentiras-real-madrid.html

"Yo lo único que hice fue decir que estoy muy feliz en el Liverpool y que voy a estar agradecido toda mi vida por cómo me ha tratado el club; soy hincha, son una ciudad y un club espectaculares."

Do you want me to translate that for you sunshine?

"All I wanted to say was that I was very happy at Liverpool, I will be grateful for the rest of life how the club has treated me, the city and its fans"

So much for your crack about him saying "no one supported him".......................

Radio City also reporting this with the added comment from him that Liverpool FC, the manager and players HAVEN'T SUPPORTED him enough through the troubles he's had!!!

If true he can fook right off!!  :no  :no  :veryangry

Maybe not from a playing side but from a not worth the hassle side we'll be better off I now believe.  :(

The top players want league titles and as a minimum CL, under we can offer than we will continue to lose big players. You should be thankful that our legacy allows us to attract and sign these types of players.

Man the f*ck up and dry your eyes.

So I'm delusional because I refuse to accept mediocrity. Ok then  :suspect:

I don't doubt Twiddle Dee and Twiddle Dum royally f**ked us but a large part of that was Benitez as well, he made some pretty poor decisions towards the end of his reign as well.

I'm not crying, just angry that Real Madrid are trying to do a con job on us again. Don't worry mate when you're debating how s**t we are next season because we didn't buy anyone to replace Suarez you can always use my shoulder to cry on.  :D

@OptaJoe: 7 - Without Luis Suarez's goals this season, Liverpool would still have finished seventh in the Premier League table. Depth.

Have that you miserable W*nk*r

We will find out next season won't we.

Always got to trust Opto Jo

Please remind me who our back up striker was until Jan

Nice to another poster who can't converse without insults

Another one dragged up.

Without Suarez goals we would have been ten points worse off - 6 defeats more instead of draws and 2 draws instead of wins. That doesn't take into account the goals that got us through in Europa and the countless assists to help win many more games.

I prefer to go with the opta stats, more reliable.

Also I was being affectionate not insulting

That's alright we can always rely back on Andy Carroll
