Luis Suarez signs for Barcelona

This is voted for by the other Premier League Players isnt it?

Do you reckon ANY Man U player will vote for Suarez? No chance.. Other managers have come out and called him a cheat this year as well. so I just cant see him getting the votes unfortunately..  No problem for me.  We dont need to manu acholades folloing him around as there are already going to be loads of top clubs trying to tempt him away as it is..
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

The PFA don't want him to win it, the other managers don't want him to win it, his peers don't want him to win it and I DON'T WANT HIM TO WIN IT!

Imagine scoring 30 goals a season in the toughest professional league in the world, generating tonnes of headlines and winning the POTY award?...we will soon be starring down a £60-£70 mil offer from all the big clubs and the oil monies, and given our financial situation it might be tough for the club to look away. We all knew how great he is, his fellow professionals and managers knew full well how important Luis can add to their team but the POTY awards are too political to be worth anything nowadays.

The same reason why Michu will not win it...because he plays for unfancied Swansea City!

Let Gareth Bale boost his own ego with that award, seriously means nothing, Giggs winning it told you all that. I think the last shock was when Stevie won it in 2006? Nobody expected him to win it that season.

Don't know which one he has least chance of winning, the PFA Player of the Year or Writers Player of the Year.

Or maybe him not winning this award will make him feel that he just can't achieve anything at Liverpool because of the bias, and further push him out the door.

We are in a win-win situation here
If Suarez gets it, its because its deserved
If he doesnt, its because theyre biased and its a sh'it award anyway

Man of the match again. Brilliant goal. Excellent interview showing what a decent guy he is. Amazing talent that just gets better. His attitude and work rate are fantastic. Great to see how is on the field behaviour has improved massively as well.

Thought it was the incentives in the contract he signed last summer that he reached that triggered the pay raise.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

Exactly correct. His new contract last summer took his weekly wage from £40k to £80k a week. His performances have triggered bonuses to take him to £120k a week and he deserves every last penny.

In the overall scheme of things is £80k regarded as big money these days? Forget his very well deserved bonuses that take him to £120k. He signed for Liverpool for £22m and £40k a week. That's hardly big money compared to Carroll at £35m and £80k a week. Messi Rooney Ronaldo Tevez etc etc etc are all on over £200k a week.Torres is on £180k ffs. There are a handful of footballers that deserve huge wages due to their value to the club. Luis Suarez is one of them. I think you are still having difficulty understanding my problem with the obscenely rich clubs that are simply buying success with new money.

Wouldn't you pay Messi etc 200k a week - I think he certainly earns his wage don't you.

Have you seen the size of our wage bill.

Did you mind paying Torres over a 100 grand a week when he was slamming in the goals for us or giving Gerrard over 100 grand a week ? You can't say "forget" the 120k we are giving Suarez.

Players get the big wages because they produce the goods for their team.

Teams pay the big money for the best players - guess what we did during the 70's and 80's - paid the transfer fees and the biggest wages.

Every team "buys" success

Basically every success has been bought one way or another.
