This may be a predictable retort but you just have to look at the Greece game, I've rarely seen one player single-handedly take control of a game in such a manner.

I do agree about Owen too however, you just know he'll produce the goods on the big occasion and so do the opposition.

I'm praying Stevie G will be fit for Euro 2004 cos I think he could have a stormer.......

You mean the match where Beckham had seven efforts before hitting the target? It is all too easy to say he had a great game, but perhaps if the TEAM had played better rather than the individual then we wouldn't have run it so close. One player being the focal point of a team is the stuff of average teams and playgrounds, England would be much stronger if everything didn't revolve around Beckham.

the only chance of us winning the european championships, is if every1 of our top class players play to the best of there ability!!

........if Stevie G, Becks and Owen are all on form there will literally be no stopping us!!

Gerrard would be the rock in the centre of the field holding the team together, Beckham doing what he does best provide top quality assists and with luck michael owen banging in the goals!!

becks is a quality footballer although his actually crossing accuracy is no as good as people make out. brilliant striker of a dead ball and a superb passer though. still not in the same league as stevie g though. as long as gerrard's in the england team we will not be beaten, just look at the previous record.
