We needed cover and we've got it for the short-term.
Hope the lad does well and shows some of our so called defensive superstars how to protect the keeper.

Not a bad loan signing.

Knows the league and decent in the air which we lack at the back.

We are right not to rush into making permanent signings if the right players aren't available.

We're desperately short on defenders, so loaning someone is a no brainer. He'll either impress and stay or flop and leave at the end of the season. We don't really lose either way.

No sure he'll break into the first 11 when all of our defenders are fit again though. But he's probably more mobile than Toure.

Atleast his a step up from Ilori. We needed extra cover so imo we've made the right choice.

I guess that's one more body on the bench just in case.

I hope Klopp has a plan in case we lose both cb's against Arsenal which is extremely possibly given that kolo and Sahko are looking frail like the rest of our injured stars.

We could very well end up with illori and caulker playing!

So long as Enrique never plays again, I'm happy with Dorris the Tea Lady.  :D

Is this bloke really *that* bad? Agreed he's not a marquee signing, maybe Herr Klopp doesn't have the money for a top class player - yet - so I'd be inclined to have some hope that he's being advised by others at the club...

Must admit I've never really been a fan of his and wasn't impressed when we were linked with him under Rodgers.
Maybe it wasn't Brendan who wanted him after all.

I don't mind Caulker as a back-up CB for the rest of the season. Not particularly intelligent but physically strong and good in the air. Maybe that's all we need at the moment.

Klopp's options are limited.

Splurge 20 million on a defender
loan someone
or do nothing and risk having a defensive pair of Enrique and Ilori

We've nothing to lose loaning someone in.

He can't even get in the QPR side though  :Oo:
I was hoping for a brave new dawn under Jurgen transfer wise but it seems suspiciously like business as usual. What are we trying to do here, challenge for the top prizes in the game or cement our position as a mid table side?

He's cover mate.

We were linked to Subotic but Dortmund have ruled out any loan deals. No point buying anyone now if we'll be signing Matip for free in the summer - as reported
