Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

It was a huge whopper by Benitez buying him for £20m.  He not only wasted 20m on a player worth only half that at best but he wouldn't play him even when he was fit!

Aquilani is a good player but what the hell was Benitez thinking? You don't spend that kinda money on a player to warm the bench.

Scott Parker I think, or another ''home grown'' player

Ola Toivonen - we have bid 9 Mill for him and its likely to be accepted.

He can play as Attacking mid or as Striker.

Roma got 20 million Euros for him though, they must have been laughing their b0ll0cks off when we offered that.

:( Unfortunately I agree, they pulled our pants down and bum raped us on that deal and we bent over a took it like Graham Norton craving sausage. :(

:D

I don't know why we bothered buying him for that much.. Check his injury record and any person would tell you we were mad to buy him for that amount!  If we didn't buy him i guarantee you he would have rotted at roma and probably when his 29/30 would join a lower italian club.

He's lumbered with the job of sorting the squad out. He is now (with the little money he has) trying to make his own team.

I think the signing of Cole, deemed Aqua surpless to requirments.

I do think the Italian has the ability but Roy won't find it easy to stick him in the team with the players he's got and the injury record Aqua has. Au revoir Albeto lad.

Paid way over the odds for a player with a bad injury record.  Might go down as the worst of Benitez's signings just because of the fee.  Hardly any return on investment :(

Poor decision to letting him go mate, I think with the right system he would be a very good player given the chance

I think letting him go on loan is basically Roy saying to the Serie A -> For Sale.

Aqua would never get a game for us, he's not good enough for the PL, thats basically the bottom line. I hope he has an amazing season at Juventus so maybe we can get £15m for him.

Still, its really a kick in the teeth that Rafa paid £20m for a sicknote.

Reports last year when he signed reported £3.4m per year. Aint a clue what that works out at per week, but thick at school and it's kind of never changed !!  :p
