I don't think we need a right back, irrespective of what happens with Johnson, we have Flanagan who could slot right in over there.
Also Randall looks a real prospect, to buy someone else would just stop Flanno from improving further. After all he could soon be England's first choice.

It's left back that is the problem, whilst I can't stand the guy it makes some sense getting Cole in for a season, which would give time for Brad Smith to go out on loan and develop.

Fair comment JC, knew injury wise Richards had a poor season last term but didn't realise he had a "history" of injuries.

I think FSG like the idea of signing Richards because -
A) he is available for a pittance
B) Brendan's forte is improving players and if he can get the best out of Richards then we will have some player because like Coutinho and Sturridge the ability is certainly there.

There has been some leftbacks that we're linked to, such as Rodriguez and Moreno and Cole. But FSG should go for Nagatomo of Inter Milan. Firstly, he's Japanese so it would be great business sense to have an Asian in the team. Secondly, Inter wants Lucas so a swap deal could very well be negotiated thus reducing the price considerably. Thirdly, he's a really good player with lots of energy. Just my opinion of course, but Nagatomo would be sound and would provide great competition for Enrique.

Unless Brendan also moonlight as a magical surgeon or is a demigod, there is just no cure for sick note like Richards. We 'might' be spending our resources to polish a great player out of him that no longer exist

The Reds will battle Mersey rivals Everton for the signature of Sevilla striker Carlos Bacca, Football Direct News report.

The 27-year-old Colombian netted 19 goals in all competitions for his club last season, helping them win the Europa League.

Everton have been strongly linked with Bacca in the past but Rodgers could see the striker as a good back-up for Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez.

We do need an RB. someone to compete with Flanagan.

Youth should be 3rd or 4th choice, we need experience and quality players in order to compete on all fronts next season.

OK a week after their disaster season...United have sealed up mega deals for 1) a new manager 2) Luke Shaw 3) Toni Kroos

A week after missing out on our first Premiership title, we are still talking...and speculating...and dreaming. Nice

It's far too early to be worried. 1) They need a new manager we don't 2 & 3) They were always going to spend after the disaster of a season they just had.

We will get players in for sure.

Oh yes I understand that. But it shows their urgency and getting the necessary end of the business done quick and fast...it gives out a strong statement of intent to our rivals! Beside I believe the best deals are to be had early, not when the selling club have you by the balls!

Taking about not getting worried... we do have a Chief Executive with a track record of screwing up deals just because he thinks he can be a tight ar$e. Would hate to see our ambition being screwed because we don't manage to reinforce our team. We need to push forward from a position of strength
