NEXT 5 GAMES - SWA, SOTO, SUN, MUN, CAR

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby maypaxvobiscum » Fri Feb 14, 2014 4:46 pm

Here's the next set of fixtures we have in the league.

Swansea HOME
Southampton AWAY
Sunderland HOME
Man Utd AWAY
Cardiff AWAY

Really tough in my opinion. We should be expected to win our 2 home games. But I'm worried about the Southampton and Man Utd game. Let's face it, the latter is in bad shape at the moment but I'm sure they will rise to the occasion against us.

Predicted points - 10. Southampton may upset us, and a draw at OT.

The good news against Sunderland is that Borini won't be able to play against us and he's been a revelation for them this season, along with Adam Johnson who is knocking on Hodgson's door. Poyet has them playing some good football lately. Even Altidore is starting to look like a useful player which is saying something seeing that he's been a poor imitation of Heskey most of the time. Sunderland will also have Wes Brown back from suspension and Steven Fletcher is a maybe.

Swansea will hope that Michu and Shelvey recovers in time for their game against us.

I reckon Southampton will be the tricky one, Manu is not as much of a concern for me as their defence is as bad as ours at the moment but our attack is more potent, I'll go for 13 points

I expect us to slip up against Southampton, can't see us winning that one. Man Utd. and even Cardiff will be tricky as well. To be honest I can't see an easy fixture in these 5 games. I'll go for 10 points again. We'll need more if we want the title though.

dont think we beat swansea in the league under brendan but the fact that we are flying high and at home should be enough to get all 3 points.
anyone of those games is a potential banana skin, soton rolled us already, sun are rejuvenated under poyet, form goes out the window against manure and it will be tough in the old toilet, cardiff will be fighting for their life's also.
by the time we face cardiff it will almost be the end of march and if we somehow come through it with maximum points then we will be right up there if not top. ten points should keep us in pole for 4th as hopefully spurs will lose a few as they have norwich, cardiff, cheatski, arsenal and then southampton. they also have dnipro at home before norwich and away the week after before they face cardiff. this could be a great chance to put some distance between us and give us a cushion.
we face each other just after that run of matches and wouldnt it be nice to be heading into that knowing a win will end their hopes of CL  :nod

Man Utd one and Southampton one will be difficult, don't see getting 6 points from both game and hoping at least 2 points

We need to win them all, we finish the season with games against the likes of City, Chelsea and Spurs and as tricky as games against the likes of Southampton and United are we really could do with winning them.

The way our seasons has been going we will probably hammer Soton and ManU then drop points at Cardiff

Swansea HOME.       Draw
Southampton AWAY.  Loss
Sunderland HOME.    Win
Man Utd AWAY.         Win
Cardiff AWAY.           Draw

I predict 8 points from these games.

Our defence as it stands is giving goals away for fun, I'll bet we don't keep a clean sheet for any of these games.

I reckon 12 points is realistic and we really need to be winning them all to cement 4th place and get serious in the title race, i back us win all the games except for a defeat vs southampton

I'm going for 13 as I think we'll drop a draw against the scum. No reason why we shouldn't win all the others though

I woudl be disappointed if we lost any of those games. However our away form is rocky to say the least, our defence tends not to show up. I expect a couple of draws, probably Southampton and Man Utd.

I fully expect both homes games as wins. Cardiff away we should win also.

So I would be happy with 11 points out of 15.

I'm hopeful that things will improve in the next few weeks, with Agger, Skho, Johnson and (fingers crossed) Enrique due back
