footy isnt an exact science, sometimes players go to a club and there`s just something in that particular environment that makes them click (or fail), so who knows, maybe moses`s game will dovetail perfectly with the likes of suarez`s, coutinho`s and sturridge`s.
maybe rodgers`s playing style will suit his game, he did well at wigan under martinez who has a similar philosophy to brendan

Even though you've already said that once Yakka   :D  I agree with that.

It's worked out well for Sturridge and I think it will, well I hope it will for Moses.

And like you said, Rafa rated him.  :;):

Good to see some physical presence up front too. I think he'll improve our attack.

Thanks Maureen.

My concern now is what happens if Danny Sturridge gets injured? Who are the suitable backup for him? Yesil, Aspas ? No one. We're thin on the centre forward department.

Gary Mac was on no ones radar prior to joining us, he had won f*ck all in his career and was at the end of his career.

If that type of signing happened today, you would have criticised it to death.

Do you mean title winning Gary McAllister who had proven himself over an extended period at the top level of the game both domestically and internationally and was still his clubs main player before we signed him ( was Coventrys player of the year the season before ) . It was clear he still could offer a team something and had proven himself. Didnt expect his impact to be as big as it was but certainly had no problem with the signing due to his proven quality.

Nice squirm. Your definition of 'proven' seem to be more flexible when you look back in hindsight.

He won the title 10 years prior, we signed him at 35! Even Leeds had deemed him surplus to requirements, hence his move to Coventry.

I reiterate my position, if we had signed him today - there's very little chance of not seeing an attack on the club for an uninspiring signing or some other jive about the manager or owners.

Gary Mac became a cult hero because he was accepted from day 1 to prove himself. Additionally Houllier was trusted in the decision to sign him.

Most of us strive to do the same for Rodgers and his new signings.

Gary Mac signed over 12 years ago and won trophies with us - I had no issues with him signing because he was still performing well in the prem despite his age. Ill leave the accusations and judgements to you. This is about Moses not Gary Mac. One was a wonderful player the other IMO ( in bold letters for you ) - IN MY OPINION isn't good enough to take us up a level. Others may think he is - well we will see at the end of the season.

Opinions as they say are like a'rseholes, we've all got one. Would be nice if yours wasn't constantly being flashed at us in virtually every thread.

Well it is a football forum - posting football opinions is certainly better than insults and accusations is it not ?
