It would make infinitely more sense to spend big on players who will stop the bloody ball getting near Mignolet. Totally misguided policy by the club. We won't score more than we will concede from corners, dead balls etc.
willian is the wrong focus right now.

I wouldn't say he's the wrong focus since we've sold Downing now, but I agree that a player that will improve our defending should be a priority. I also think that we shouldn't be spending 30mill on this lad (sorry for sounding like a broken record). I would much rather spend 15m on a defender (e.g. Papadopoulos) and 15 on an attacking player (e.g. Eriksen).

We just lost Downing so our wide options are very thin on the ground when it comes to an expirenced player.

Willian is a quality player - someone who improves our squad immediately and someone that shows we can attract top players.

Willian is a player we need.

bunglemark is right, a CB should have been our main priority, but any quality player no matter his position will be welcomed by me.
plus our front 4 will be as good as anything in the country if we do sign willian.

Willian is a hellish upgrade on Downing no doubt about that and one of those players that is available
at the right time for us a bit like Suarez.

Another time and place he is at a top Champs League club, but a career path in the Ukraine and Russia
for money (and the hot East European women I am sure) is at an end and has took him just off the radar of
some of the big hitters.

He looks a really good player, and after the hard knocks of East European football is surely ready to shine
in the Premiership, hopefully with us.

Let's get him in and get him NOW.

We are far to slow to move on these types of opportunities.

This is exactly the type of talent we should be going after if he is interested in joining.

C'mon FSG and Brendan, right player, right attitude, pull the f**king trigger.

Eds - Is it any wonder they are cautious having just seen £35m sail down the river with the combined sales of Downing and Carroll. These two players were FSG's most expensive signings. I'd be fkg cautious !!! Hope we get the lad though.

Mate, Rodgers hasn't actually spent any money this transfer window. I think its -4m or -5m so far.

With Suarez returning to squad and looking more and more likely to play for us later this season, and it's a big IF we sign Willan, we will have a massive chance of 4th.

As for the silly c**nts not wanting the Brazilian here, f**k off you shower of miserable sh*ts, we were right on Coutinho and you were JUST wrong.

Mark my words you will be wrong on this fella as well when he he starts turning it on for us.

We should move heaven and earth to sign him.  :buttrock

Nothing wrong with walking away when a team almost tries to treble it's value of a player.

I understand your reservations. It does look as though we've now started to sniff around anyone who is willing to move and is a marquee.

It sometimes looks as though we're making it up as we go along with our transfers.

Big difference between being critical of the owners and having valid points to back it up as compared to any numpty thinking we shouldn't buy Willan because he is going to "cost too much" or is to "much of a risk"

But hey I wouldn't expect you to understand that as every one of your reply posts to me seems to be a rather badly disguised pot shot rather then having any footballing arguing merit.
