Luis Suarez signs for Barcelona

It's a clusterfuck of a situation, I just hope someone other than Arsenal comes in and offers £40m. The Guardian have played a blinder tho, Suarez contacts them, they publish the interview then the next day they slate him, hilarious

You think we get more for him if we let him rot in the reserves and collect his paycheck?

yes, quite possibly and next summer when he plays for Uruguay his price will definitely shoot up so no need to panic, plusif we don't sell him he'll come back into the team with a grovelling apology, he'll have no choice and his ego is so big that he'll play well and score goals even if he wants to leave.

You might not think so, but I do...it will just be like if Barca were to come back and offered £17M plus a pack of crisp for Agger. It was not about the £40M...it was the £1 that was insulting, and the club sees it that way too.

The £1 was to ensure the fee went above the rumoured clause in the contract.

I'm not sure how a players price goes up when he is sat on the bench ? Suarez right now is at his prime - he is right now at his most expensive , his price won't rise - be realistic.

It's exhausting talking about this rotten egg (not referring to you Benny  ) so I'm going to give it a rest until some new development surfaced

So how is it insulting by offering what is needed to activate a clause ?

If they offered £10mil then thats insulting but £40mil plus £1 ? As Mart says - how is it an insult .

Well, these last few days has changed nothing.
The club has its stance and I doubt they will move from it.
Only thing it has done is maybe pull the whool from some of the deluded supporters out there still believing Suarez was an anfield legend and a club hero.

But Suarez can do what he wants, unless someone else comes and bids for his services or Arsenal up their bid(which I don't see) he will stay and rot in the reserves, on the bench or
come groveling with an apology. Either way Suarez is gone next summer at the latest, on the clubs terms....

Ok cheers - but didnt he actually play in one ?

Carra has said you can tell the clear difference with Suarez at training - just doesn't want to be there

Sorry just a quick add...do you think it's worth taking a £5M or more hit just to ensure he don't fall into the hands of our closest rival?

heimdall...he might not sell for £55M after being benched but I think we would be in a better position to hold off any sale to Arsenal atm...who knows after Real have digested their £85M fee for Bale, they might be ready to go shopping again? I'm sure teams that gets into the latter stage of the CL might be more willing to spend, especially on a non cup-tied player. Anyway, we are all talking as if we truly understand about the transfer market...I'm all exhausted now!  :help
