AT LAST we have got a manager who is prepared to stand up to a player, instead of the player s.hitting all over the club. Put the t,wat in the reserves and let him rot

Ok so we can't may be consign him to the reserves, but we can make him sit, in full view of the world, warming the the bench every game.

Selling him to Arsenal, are we really hell bent on destroying any chance we have of getting in to the CL positions?

This is crucial time for our great club, outside the Suarez, debacle, we have to arrest our situation, to compete with the 'big boys', we can 't afford to be outside the holy grail positions.

PFA Gordon Taylor had said that they had looked at the clause and LFC are not obliged to sell Suarez... only obliged to inform Suarez and negotiate with the club who offered 40 million...

... and we have negotiated with Arsenal...i.e. feck off Arsenal...

Guardiola is not looking good if that is the case... bad advise...

No way should Liverpool sell our best player to a rival for 4th spot. Thus I would prefer Liverpool selling him to RMadrid for 40M than to Arsenal for 50M.

Absolute corker of a statement from Rodgers, finally someone who says a player isn't bigger than the club and has the balls to back his words with actions. United the fans pretty well as well   :buttrock

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... -word.html - just a few quotes from the man himself. He's getting slaughtered from all angles now, except Arsenal forums it seems  :D

it should not affect the club. He is missing for 6 domestic games anyway. By the point he returns, the transfer window will be shut and his only option will be a grovelling apology.

If he stays and the window shuts and we're dragging out a stale 0-0 draw with 30 minutes left, your the manager and you know Luis suarez can change a game and score from out of nowhere...   would you bring him on? Would he come on and play his socks off or will he come on and mope around looking sorry for himself.?

knowing what we do about Luis he' probably come on and smack the ref in the nose just to get sent off and another lengthy ban.

cant help but feel totally gutted with this whole situation, we have in suarez a world class player who i thought would become a club legend. now we no clubs interested in him but our main rivals for CL spots. who we cant sell to but inevitably cant keep. im totally annoyed about the entire thing. i wish it was over and we can move on.

It's going to effect the club no matter what happens now - either we have an unhappy player on our hands going through the motions until the next transfer window ( ala Torres ) or we sell him. Selling is the better of the option. No apology will make up for what he has done to the club.

SportsDirect"News" is reporting:

Manchester City are preparing "to blow Arsenal out of the water" and match Liverpool's £50 million asking price for striker Luis Suarez.

The Uruguayan, who was the subject of two failed bids from Arsenal this summer, was told by his club that he would not be sold to a Premier League rival, especially if the bids were below Liverpool's valuation.

Furthermore, the player has been told to train alone by boss Brendan Rodgers as punishment for his negative impact on the squad.

SportsDirect News has now learned that last season's runners-up Manchester City will test Liverpool's resolve by offering both £50m and Suarez the Champions League football the player covets.

A City source said: "City are still hurting over the way they surrendered the title to [Manchester] United last season, so the owner is preapred to blow other clubs out of the water to get the title back. If that means a lot of unhappy strikers on the bench, so be it."
