The biting there's nothing you can do about.  People dislike Liverpool, and the racism thing was completely blown out of purportion as well as the diving.  He clearly dove only a few times this season.  He may go down easy, but everybody does.  It's actually funny that Bale, who was carded for diving 5 or 6 times, but who dove on a consistent basis, won player of the year.  His cheating lost clubs a lot more points against spurs than Suarez did.  But when you bite somebody? and the middle finger to the Fulham fans... the media took full advantage of that.

Interesting theory about the victim thing, why don't you try it out. Walk up to a black member of staff where you work, one who you don't know particularly well, and call him negrito, then lets see what your HR department think about you being the victim.  :D

Fed up with all the shight but I really don't want him to go. I think he is going to stay another year. Just a strange feeling. He is simply letting everybody know exactly what his ambitions are in a way that only Luis can. CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR THE APOLOGY! Ok I can dream.

Youre absolutely right and I apologise for getting into discussions (or trying to) with the pr'ick. Theres absolutely no sense to what he says and all he does is look for attention and then twist what other people say. I really dont know why the mods allow the Fu*king boring retard on here to wind good fans up with his negative, pessimistic bo'llocks and bullsh'it "opinions" as he is obviously anti-Liverpool. Anyway Im off here for a month away from the daft cu'nt and talk to real fans about LFC.
I tell you what, I would love to meet the beaut in real life and give him a piece of my mind, after he wakes up of course.

You're missing the point.

The offence of what happened still exists, using the term 'negrito' in our society is not acceptable. However allowances have to be made for the first offence when the cause is driven by a cultural misunderstanding, as in the Suarez example.

Even in your example, most reasonable people on the receiving end of what they consider a racist comment would accept an apology if they later found out the intent was not racism and was in fact a cultural misunderstanding.

SCS do you think Suarez knew the offence the word makes within Europe ? Remember he has been in the continent for a great deal of years.

Do you really think with all the "Kick Racism Out" campaigns we have seen in World Football over the last decade he didnt realise the word "Negrito" can be classed a racist term ?

If he had just moved direct from South America then I could understand the lack of understanding/education but surely he has been in Europe long enough to realise that if he is calling a person of dark skin "Negrito" whilst pinching that skin he is going to cause offence ? I can't believe he is that daft

Mixture of both i think - at the end of the day only Suarez will know what he was meaning - i dont think he was totally as innocent as thought - i believe he was certainly trying to wind up Evra and then the handshake was just the worst thing to do - he should of just grabbed his hand and ensure he shake the guys hand - he made Kenny look bad through that whole incident.

Suarez doesn't do himself any favours but the FA were very inconsistent and unfair in their handling of the incident, they also chose to ignore Evra threatening to beat Suarez unconcious. Nobody could possibly believe that the words and intent of Suarez were worse than that of John Terry, the whole system completely unjust and itself racist in my opinion.

I always chose to defend him but even I would be happy if Real made a decent offer for him, if PSG paid £55M for Cavani and Real were talking about £85M for Bale, surely Suarez has got to be worth at least £50M even with his track record.

If he decides to go to another EPL team, he'll be asking for trouble especially if it's in London and it will leave a very bad feeling between the clubs.

Yes the inconsistencies between Suarez and Terry case was shocking

The punishments should have been equal for both players.

Suarez plays with players of all races at Liverpool. I bet he signs shirts for fans regardless of race. I imagine he interacts just fine with plenty of people without offending them. If tough ol' Evra got offended, I'd imagine it was more by choice and cunning than any true racist intent on Suarez' part.

That said, he was found guilty. The press is then justified in referring to him as racist any time it suits them. Id think with this in mind, He has the right to say it upsets his family. The press here in England are vicious and love nothing more than to lift people of all walks of life, up into pedestals which will then be broken when it suits.

That's life. Suarez is no angel, but I'd not say he was a racist either.

He was in the Netherlands.  They don't speak English in the Netherlands, and negrito does not mean anything in Dutch like it can be translated in English.  They were speaking in Spanish (probably two different types at that) and evra decided to get him in trouble for it.  The cultural differences have to be taken into account.  I'm not saying Suarez is the victim for saying it, as in a "politically correct" environment he would have been told he can't say that type of thing, but they understand the misunderstanding, and he'd get a slap on the wrist.

The 8 game ban, especially when a player who later did the same thing except there was evidence against him, and he was English so there was no misunderstanding gets a shorter ban, makes him the victim.

Last summer when he signed a four year contract with us, in a way, he did us a favour. And that is, it has now given Liverpool the upper hand in all possible bids for him. Liverpool can either refuse to sell him to anyone who refuse to pay for the exorbitant price that Liv. demands and he stays for at least the next window OR he goes and Liverpool pockets at least 40M and hopefully can find a quality striker. But one thing that concerns me is, he could go to a rival PL side like Arsenal/Chelsea. I don't mind him going to RM for 40M but definitely not to any or our rivals.

They speak English all over Europe hence why Suarez spoke very good english when he arrived. He isnt daft - he is pinching a black persons skin and calling him negrito - that doesnt look good does it. The meaning will only be known by Suarez.
