are we that skint that we have to sell an experienced player before we can buy more potential?
you say we already have enough attacking players but most of them are young players still learning their trade (sterling, suso, borini, morgan etc)
i`d keep downing at the club, he`s playing well

Good observation Yaka. Surely we would sell Carroll before Downing as well - get rid of someone not contributing before someone pulling on the shirt every week. No one's safe eh? Only Salif Diao would have survived this cull!

Tell you what though, we're certainly making room for these young lads in the first team every time we get rid of an experienced player. Makes me think this season is a wing and a prayer for a good finish with more eyes on next season for a sustained challenge once these youngsters have bedded in.

im no big fan of stu but thats a risky move moving him on for ince who is unproven at that level. downing has upped it a bit recently and if anything is a decent squad player and us parting ways with him for ince is not going to improve us in the short term if at all.
we should have room for both of them as the squad is thin.

i dont think the young lads will have enough about them next season reg to maintain a challenge. maybe in 3 yrs time when they fully develop but they are far from that now imo.
we need to bridge this gap with a bit of experience over the summer with 2 or 3 lads over 25-26 to ease that transition.

we have got absolutely no chance of signing modric, the season before he went to real madrid daniel levy turned down a huge bid from chelsea for him.
his stock may have fallen slightly but he`d still interest the likes of chelsea, city and especially united who desperately need a top CM.
modric would not fall into the bracket of `reasonably priced signing`s`

I've seen this "confirmed" by a couple of ITKs on various rumour sites.  One in particular seems to have been spot on with pretty much every deal done in the past year or so.

If the deal is done, then it will take a few days now to do a medical and get the paperwork sorted.  Maybe announced at weekend (if they are correct).

ok, just think the "deal done" comment may have been slightly premature.
Can see on another LFC forum a statement from a Blackpool Gazette reporter (their local paper), saying no deal has been done.

Think we should be sceptical until it's on the official site.

ok I look forward to the official announcement very soon.
Blackpool journalists are saying "contrary to reports a deal has NOT been done, there is no truth whatsoever in the stories"

I hope you are right and they are wrong.
