These decisions are made basis what they see on the training field mate. If he aint been picked its because he's not good enough.

Seem that he has agreed a two-and-a-half year deal on around £30,000 a-week, with Liverpool paying him £50,000 a week for the remaining 18-months of his deal at Anfield.
So, a quick bit of maths says that his "severance package" (if the above is right) would be £3.9M. But if we were to keep him on till the end of his contract here, on 90k a week, it would cost us just over £7M, so even paying him that much, we'd be saving £3.1m
