L.S. has become a consistent goal scorer of late and that is great news, hope he continues. The fact that BR and Werner said he was not for sale at any price, well, it's not up to them. It's all up to Suarez. Remember when Chelsea bid for Torres, Liverpool also said he wasn't for sale and looked what happened? Though he signed a long term contract with us last summer, doesn't mean he can't leave, he can leave but interested clubs would have to pay a high price for it, maybe another 50 million.

I hope to see L.S. finishes his football career with us and become another legend but Liverpool would have to keep him happy in order for that to happen. And that means qualifying for C.L. very soon. If we finish the next 2 seasons outside the top 4, I am positive he will ask for a transfer and Barca, City, RM will be beating down his doors for his signature.

That's why I really hope to see us getting D.Sturridge in the next window. That lad has the pace, the dribbling skills and a goal poacher and a Suarez-Sturridge partnership up front will be exciting to watch and I hope it will materialise.

I cannot predict how long Luis will be with us, but while he's here, I'll keep on enjoy watching his skills and goals.

we do need a striker but id prefer if we steered well clear of sturridge and sought to bring someone else in.
the lad has turned us down before and sports an even bigger puss than torres. :nod

Without CL football next season, I believe most likely Suarez will be signed by one of the rich clubs either in January or next summer. But since he signed a long term contract with us last summer and I heard there is a 40 million get out clause, that would buffer any damage selling him could have done. We can then use the 40 to 50 million to sign 2 or 3 more quality replacements and please no more Andy Carroll like panic buys. So I thank him for signing that long term contract as well as the goals and amazing skills he's been contributing. If he leaves, I am sad but wish him the best but if he does leave and we can get at least 40 million that would be a blessing in disguise. Because it would be like Newcastle selling Carroll to us for 35 million and they used that cash to sign Cisse and Ba and a few more good players. So all is not lost even if he goes provided we play the financial cards side right.

Luis Suarez is not for sale. Agreeing to sell him will signal to all that our ambitions are firmly mid table. Good players attract good players.

Without world class players, how are we to sell our ambition? How do we build? Its a slippery slop. Look at Newcastle, based on the theory selling works, they should be doing better now.... Mind you they did get a great deal, but the principle is the same.

Spread the word... Luis is not for sale at any price!  :buttrock

it`s a nice soundbyte but the reality of the situation is that practically half the season has gone and we havent even made it into the top half of the table yet never mind the top 4.
we only just hung onto the likes of agger and skrtel by the skin of our teeth last summer and if we dont make it into the CL next season i expect to see more speculation surrounding our best players at the end of the season.
we know juventus and psg put bids in for luis and it wasnt just our first teamers that clubs were interested in, real madrid even put in an official offer for suso last summer.
if luis continues his current form we will do well to keep him here next season, especially considering fsg are trying to keep wages down.
if we dont make it into the CL clubs will be flocking around us like wolves in june.

I can see your point, Apart from Agger where i think he wanted to stay but the club thought they could cash in, But looking at the table there is 7 points seperating Tottenham in 5th and Norwich in 13th.

Its not just posters im talking about fighting for top 4 its the players. People like Downing and co. Luis gives his heart and soul for this club and i believe he is genereally happy here the same i would say for Agger Lucas and Johnson those 4 players are the only World class players i say we have at this club.

Rodgers i think needs to change slightly aswell it keeps banging on about not being up to it yet but is he seriously saying WBA have a better squad then us?

We have quality in our side that can beat any side in this league and it shows.

Should have beat City at home Should have beat united at home should have beat Everton Away and maybe could have got more from the Spurs and Chelsea games away.

Saying that we have 5 more teams to play this year.

Southampton
West ham
QPR
Fulham
A.Villa

Its about time the players fought for this club and the shirt they are wearing. We should NOT lose a single one of those games at worst we draw away but this Liverpool team when we play Southampton at home tommorow should turn up and show us the fans why they are worthy of our support why they deserve to wear the Red of Liverpool.

We need to keep fighting until TOP 4 is mathematically impossible and right now its  far from being that.

I thought the Spurs match was the best performance of the season, if we can play like that, with an attacking ethos against these teams will definitely climb the table. No need to wait until we're behind to do it. I think Southampton are in for a beating.

I never saw the game but i have heard we played very well. But that kind of touches my point. Gerrard that game apparantly played well so why didnt he play that good against Swansea?

It would have been easier for him to look better against a lesser team like Swansea rather than Tottenham?

We have a batch of players who dont take the fixtures seriously and Gerrard is falling into that batch. Thats the reason why we always seem to get results against the better teams the likes of UTD Chelsea City Arsenal Everton. Because the players are upto it. When its a trip to Swansea away alot of players I believe think " OH Suarez will score we will win"

thats why we drew to Swansea lost to WBA ETC alot of the players arent up to playing well against Smaller teams.

Same goes for Internationals. players pull out of squads if we play against San marino or Zimbamwe. If we were playing Spain, Brazil or Argentina players would fight to be in the squad.

i dont know why so many are getting carried away saying that we were brilliant against spurs because we were not and suffered a 2.1 defeat in the process. yeah sure we dominated for a period in the 2nd half but they were still comfortable. we have done this so many times already this season that it already feels like we are banging our heads off the same wall consistently while us fans sit here and think its only a matter of time before it kicks in and we go on a run.
we shipped 2 goals inside 15 minutes because of bad team selection and considering we where average against swansea and im shocked he thought the same side could get something out of spurs.
not forgetting the goal we got was through a freak own goal that will feature as a blooper for many years to come.

its frustrating to see the manager persevere with the same set up every week despite rotating players at will, why no suso or sahin against swansea? that match would have been ideal for them because swansea arent physical. and against spurs he brings on assaidi, why now? why suddenly now when we go to white hart lane and are 2 down he decides to start giving the lad experience. another bad decision.

we are where we are because of fenway and their advisors, they installed a manager that has only one year in the top flight. he knows nowt about managing a big club or how to win trophys which is what this club exists for. swansea lost their manager, entire back room staff and there top players but yet are still above us in the league. they have progressed while we have not which is not good enough.

your only as good as your results. nothing is gained from we could have, should have or would have and our league position is 12th which is true to our current form despite only losing once in 8.
never have i known a liverpool team to be this bad and most will put the blame elsewhere but when you have the blind leading the blind you are constantly going to walk into walls.
rodgers hasnt impressed me a lot with all his waffle, 180 page dossiers and his apparent superior knowledge of the game because whether he or the fans choose to believe it we are struggling big time. its not good enough for previous managers and it should not be tolerated because its brendan rodgers.
he needs to sort this out and make the right decisions in january or else we will struggle to even break in to the top 10 by may.
im not calling for him to be sacked but a kick in the pants is required.

Well he is suspended for next sundays match with the hammers, who do we think should play the striker role??

Brendan played Shelvey in that role in europe, should Shelvey try it or perhaps Morgan or someone else ??
