there are people within the club who think that suarez got stitched up by evra over the handshake

Yeah like Johnson and Barnes, who have time and time again defended Suarez.

But of the course the "true" and "just" media in England don't want a bar of it because it blows their agenda and opinion out of the water!

not only that mate, look at that infamous interview after the game between kenny and sky, dalglish was convinced the `non handshake` wasnt down to luis, kenny was spitting feathers when he said `what happened out there wasnt down to any of my players` or words to that effect.
by the saturday night the club probably thought they`d already lost the PR war by that point and public opinion not just in britain but around the world wasnt in the mood for the issue to rumble on so liverpool probably thought the best thing to do is just take it on the chin and apologise.
but you can tell by subsequent comments made by the likes of johnson and also suarez himself in the uruguayian media that some people within the club feel he was stitched up over the handshake.

Is Suarez victim of reputation - Steven Gerrard & Glen Johnson

Liverpool's Steven Gerrard and Glen Johnson believe Luis Suarez is a victim of his own reputation and is not being treated fairly by referees.

Suarez had a penalty appeal turned down in the 2-1 loss to Manchester United.

"It's down to referees to not judge him. I think even when Luis does get blatant penalties, now he doesn't get them," said captain Gerrard.

Johnson added: "Referees have to forget about who they are looking at and not let the past affect their decision."

The striker, who has not won a penalty for Liverpool since the 2-1 defeat by Arsenal in March, gained a reputation by some for play acting last season, with Wigan manager Roberto Martinez describing the 25-year-old as an "artist at getting free-kicks".   

The Uruguay international was booked for diving against Sunderland 10 days ago and has already picked up three bookings this season, causing manager Brendan Rodgers to warn the player to be careful.

England captain Gerrard believes Suarez should have been awarded a penalty against United after colliding with Johnny Evans, adding: "If it's not a penalty, don't give him one but if it's clear give it."

England right-back Johnson conceded the match-winning spot-kick at Anfield on Sunday after Antonio Valencia went down in the area and accused the United winger of cheating.

"Reputations go in front of people at times and because Valencia is not a known diver that is why he got the decision," said the defender.

"I almost guarantee if it was exactly the same situation and it was Luis and not Valencia then it wouldn't be a penalty. It is cheating at the end of the day, that's what people call it."

I agree with the article. But it is also true that Suarez dig his own grave on this one. When he came over he fell in every challenge in the penalty area.
It is hard to rub something like that off once you got that mark on you by the refs.

gerrard still gets decisions galore and he's got a reputation for diving which is the equal of suarez if not worse imo.

it's about time refs started giving what they see with their own eyes. reputations should count for nothing but i agree they have to be 100% sure to give a decision. for example the red card on sunday there was no way halsey was sure it was a red. there was clearly somebody talking in his ear telling him to produce a red having seen a replay.

it's laughable the penalty welbeck got the other week, four days after he was caught scandally diving for england. suarez now will basically have to be the victim of common assault to get anything. the commentators are a disgrace aswell with their "he goes down easily" comments. all the more commonplace since ferguson came out with his "he dives all over the place that lad" comment. he should look closer to home the f#cking hypocrite.

Wasn't it Moyes who started the "Suarez is a diver" thing in the media, in the aftermath of the Merseyside Derby last season - Fergie followed suit soon afterwards? Yet what I find funny is that Van Persie, Rooney, Nani, Valencia, Young and Welbeck are notorious for diving and yet they always get the rub of the green from referees.

Fergie has too much power... Rafa knew it, Mancini appears to know it now too:

All Fergie has to do is point out that United havent had a pen at Anfield in awhile and suddenly they get a soft one.
When we challenged for the title a few years back, a lot of people blame Rafa's rant for us not winning it.  I think the soft pen Webb gave them when they were 2 nil down to Spurs had a bigger affect

I still remember United vs City when Mark Hughes was manager and the fourth official flagged for an extra 6 minutes to be played and United rescued a point. United fans are delusional as they always feel hard done by, but if you examine all the teams in the Premier League through the league season, United get the rub of the green more than any other side.

Ferguson has far too much power as football manager and he uses this to influence refereeing decisions and it has to stop. It's a form of cheating imo and shouldn't be tolerated. He might be one of the most successful British managers of all time, but that doesn't give him the right or the authority to try and influence the course of a match. If there is one club I would love to see fall off their perch, it's Manchester United.

an ex referee was asked does refereering a game put added pressure when fergie is there. he said yes straightaway. He said they wont do it intentionally but there well aware that if fergie takes a disliking to a certain referee it can ruin his reputation or certainly discredit it sad but true.

That's disgraceful. I love the way he also talks about other teams and yet nobody can talk about his United team. The man is just a cretin of the highest order. The sooner he retires from football the better and hopefully it won't be too many years until we're shot of him.

Luis Suarez has been stitched up here, if calling someone a 'Negrito' which equates to 'Little black fella" in Spanish is worthy of a £40,000 fine and an 8 match ban, then using the language "Black C*nt" like what Terry did, even if it didn't direct it at Anton Ferdinand is worthy of at least a 10 match ban, but of course the FA will always look after one of their own and it's this type of behaviour from the FA which sees me support the German National Team rather than the English one.
