I would like to torture Keith Lemon he really is an annoying, unfunny, tw@t!
Always used to pmsl at the Bo Selecta show especially the character Avid Merrion who used to stalk celebrities but since those days Leigh Francis aka Keith Lemon has not come up with anything that could even remotely be described as funny.
bo selecta was funny as fook and agree its by far his best work. keith lemon is a plonker though and cant stand the sight of him bring back bo!
Well back home in Oz after a great holiday states/Canada and managed to see a few flicks over there without being shot at
Batman rises , loved it and never saw the twist coming. Wasn't expecting much as I wasn't enamoured with previous movie but really enthralled with this outing
Avengers was also brilliant especially with a huge cast to juggle. I had grown weary over spate of superhero reboot movies but this one was worth admission price
Snow white and huntsman, enjoyed this as well with a great performance from Charlize Theron
Bourne legacy excellent action pix with great performances from its lead couple Renner/Weisz, however as Bourne movie it left me with piggyback milking franchise failure feeling
Total recall, wanted to like this and I certainly enjoyed the futuristic world that had been created. However not even luchious Kate being a bad girl could save this from dud remake pile for me
Batman dark knight rises. Only 6/10 I thought. Too long too at 2h 43m + 1/2 hour of trailers! By the time I left the cinema I was growing maggots in my jacket
Got round to watching "Safe" the other night. It's never gonna win any awards but Jason Statham never disappoints if you looking for a good no brain required popcorn actioneer.
Being a fan of the Alien series I was really looking forward to this one, thought it was going to be one of my fave films of the year. As usual with Ridley Scott movies it looks absolutely superb unfortunately storywise it just doesn't excite. I was left very much disappointed, maybe I expected too much .
The most faithful comic adaptation to the source material that I've ever seen, and could go as far as reviving what was essentially a dead genre: 80's style 18 rated action gore fests that isn't afraid to pull any punches. Think Robocop level of violence and then some and you have an idea of how hardcore Dredd is. In fact, Robocop is basically Dredd in a different skin. It was based off him.
Put simply, Karl Urban nails the character. Looks the part, sounds the part, acts the part. He IS Judge Dredd. Forget Stallone's versace wearing, PG-13 rated barely coherent *****. This is how it should have been done in the first place. There's not much to the plot, and that's for the better. It's simple action all the way through for an hour and a half solid. Similar to The Raid, or should I say The Raid is similar to it seeing that Dredd was written and produced before The Raid even starting filming. If you're planning on watching something in the cimema soon, get your ***** to see this. If it's successful enough, then sequels involving the dark judges could happen, and that's something I want to see.

Went to the Cloud Atlas premiere - monster film, visually stunning, the different stories interwine effectively, but stops short of being brilliant - the separate stories aren't quite good enough to justify the length. Does have a bit of 'Lost' in it which suited me well. Hugo Weaving bests the rest of the mega-cast and Lana Wachowski looks very well as a woman. You will never have seen anything like it - watch it on the big screen. It got a 10 minute standing ovation. 8/10.
Also went to Midnights Children - Deepa Mehta's adaptation of Salman Rushdie's book. Again it was beautiful, but painfully slow and meandering. You could feel impatience as people wished it to end. Very disappointing. 5/10.

Stallone wasn't Dredd at all. He was Rambo in a bubble wrapped suit with shiny plastic shoulder pads, super tidy plastic helmet and a matching b*llock guard. That's not Dredd. If a rapist or murderer was confronted with that on the street of a super violent city, they'd laugh at him before pumping him full of bullets. Dredd here looks menacing. Everything you see and hear has a purpose. His suit is a fully functional swat-style body armour that doubles up as riot gear and bike leathers. It has a back and neck protector in case he falls from the Lawmaster (which looks awesome by the way) and his helmet doubles up as a ballistic and bike helmet. The way he moves and acts is just as believable. He's hardcore and a ***** at the same time. which is Dredd through and through. Dredd removing his helmet and kissing another judge? That's like a Spiderman film where Spiderman runs around with a grappling hook and doesn't climb walls or sling webs at people. It just doesn't make any sense to the character whatsoever and has never happened in the comics. Judges are forbidden to have any sort of relationship and Dredd has only removed his helmet once and it was against his will and even then his face wasn't seen because it was burnt.
Oh and the way Stallone delivers those lines is possibly the worst in history. "I am *10 second delay* du luaw! These...blocks...are *another 10 second delay for some mad reason*...under...ARREST! Something, something blah blah...!" God awful.
Now, this in comparison:
See, you don't have to shout like a incoherent lunatic that's taking a stroke to get that line across. Very Dirty Harry-esque!
Interesting when I saw trailer for Dredd last month it didn't impress that much. Mind you the trailer for Looper was on just before and I found that movie's premise quite intriguing so probably was paying much attention
