you have got to be having a laugh havent you lad? obviously your not a scouser.

Born a scouser and back here for the past 10 years but lived all over the country due to work. Obvious incident aside I don’t subscribe to this “everyone is against us” ***** that “real fans” constantly real out. It’s pathetic.

are you for real? didnt you watch television or read the newspapers in the 70`s or 80`s?
most people who have never been to liverpool think it is a crime ridden sh*t hole even though we have the best architecture of any english city outside of london and the amount of listed buildings and statue`s etc proves it! when the government started putting those blue plaque`s up to denote places of historical significance liverpool and london were the first two cities designated for the scheme because of the history in the 2 cities. 99% of the population dont know things like that about liverpool because they believe the perception the media put out in the 70`s and 80`s.
whenever scousers get a cob on about how we are portrayed they start calling us self pity city and all that shyte.
the right wing media had a go at liverpool in the 70`s and 80`s because this city (along with lambeth council in london) decided to tell thatcher where to go.
granted things like the tocky riots and having derek hatton as the face of the city probably didnt win any pr wars but everywhere was the same back then.
it`s not as bad these days but you still get the likes of boris johnson putting the boot in every now and again.
i know for a fact that you havent got a scouse accent because if you did and you travelled around the country you`d soon find out other peoples perception of liverpool, some of them are genuinely surprised to find out that liverpool isnt a hybrid of communist russia and berlin circa 1945.
people who have never seen the city call us rat eaters and sing in your liverpool slums....... i wonder where they got that perception from?

as much as i have reservations about the current owners, reading articles today just makes you realise how they're still a godsend compared to the clowns that preceded them. that tw@t purslow and his decision making set this club back 5 years. getting rid of a european cup winning manager, appointing roy, bringing in jokers like cole on 100k a week etc

In all fairness, Essex has been the butt of jokes for years. Long before TOWIE.

You don't need to be a Scouser to notice the hate-filled agenda that the English media has against Liverpool football club and the people of the city of Liverpool.

Can you please give me some examples becuase I genuinly don't perceive any bias against Liverpool in the UK press, they are hyper critical of LFC I agree but not really biased, it's just that natural human glee of seeing a former giant down on his knees but we will return, one day, I hope.

I bet if the Football Association had a poll amongst a majority of football fans up and down the country this club would top the most hated list by a countrymile. I've yet to meet many fans from many different clubs who don't slate Liverpool and state how much they hate the club, its history and its supporters.

Sorry but most fans don't really care about us any more, the hated clubs these days are Manure, Citeh and the Chavs. I haven't met any fans of other teams, bar Manure and bitters, that really hate us.

That might have something to do with the fact that Liverpool Football Club have always been appreciated by other clubs due to our gracious attitude when we're successful and our humble attitude when we lose. This is why Chelsea and United are hated so much because of the arrogance they present after any minor achievement.

You clearly don't live in the United Kingdom or do not visit very often if you're coming out with comments like that. A vast majority of supporters I have met do not like Liverpool, Liverpudlians or Liverpool football club.

So now the standard is based on the people YOU have met?

I went to the Aston Villa vs Liverpool away match in December 2011 and I sat in the Holte End and whilst Downing suffered most of the abuse from Villa supporters, the hardcore contingent of their fanbase made some time to abuse Liverpool supporters too.

Go onto other supporters forums and their forums will be full of anti-Liverpool comments and that's from supporters you wouldn't expect it from i.e. West Ham, Cardiff etc. You have to be pig ignorant not to realise that when it comes to Liverpool football and the city of Liverpool as a whole most supporters will have largely negative comments towards our club, the city and the people of Liverpool.

As I say if a poll was conducted to find the most hated football club in Britain, this club would top the list. You won't find too many grounds where Liverpool supporters don't come in for some form of abuse or another. It's what happens when you're the greatest football that has ever existed, other fans get jealous and jealously breeds blind hatred. Of course I'd expect a regular match goer and season-ticket holder like your good self to know much more.

Liverpool as a club is actually very well respected. At the ground yes, we'll get abuse from other clubs but then again that's bound to happen. I mean, how many times do we sing "We hate Nottingham Forest" - they're not even in the same League as us anymore. Or the classic Those Were The Days My Friends when we abuse United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle all in one song. But outside of the match Liverpool, and our fans, are usually very well respected throughout the country - due to our club being as humble as we are in victory and gracious in defeat. And our fans being the most knowledgeable fans around. Borini recently admitted he joined due to Balotelli saying our fans were the best around - that's coming from a Man City player.

If it came down to the most hated club, we would be near the bottom. I've spoken to enough fans up and down the country to know that.

I see where you're going mate...but I guess we'll have to disagree. Perhaps the manner in which the club handled the Suarez fiasco did kinda tarnish the image of this club for the neutrals, but I strongly doubt that Liverpool are the most hated club. I saw the clips of fans celebrating when Man City won the league, it is a testament to how hated Man Utd are when even QPR fans were joyous despite them losing.
