Not at all, if he had passed comment about the Suarez race-row, today's media headlines would have been full of sensationalism and full of twisted snippets from Tom Werner which would plunge the proverbial knife into the club and that is not what we need with the dawn of the new season upon us. He handled it well, if interviewers want to extract as much information as possible, then maybe they should think of better questions and questions that won't cause problems for any branch of a club. The Benitez question just isn't welcome, neither was the questions about the Suarez race row. She then inquired about Comolli, it is plain as day that FSG held him responsible for the massive amount of wasted money which is why he was dismissed from his post. A bit of common sense wouldn't go amiss from these journalists. Some of them are paid six-figure salaries annually and they cannot even conjure up interesting and well thought out questions.

Werner has been asked the same questions over and over again, is it any wonder he dismisses them or gives half-baked answers?

after what happened under our last owners i think it`s right that journo`s ask tough questions, werner is the chairman of the club, he goes on the radio, what does he expect the journo to do? ask him what 5 records he`d take with him if he was stuck on a desert island?
i think the introduction of things like club tv channels, 24 hour rolling tv sports channels etc has turned interviews into bland propoganda excercises anyway, whenever a new player signs they say the exact same thing, it`s almost like they are reading from an autocue.
the pr men have been brought into the game and where once you got the opinionated characters like shanks, clough and allison you`ve got media trained drones, all boring as f**k. listening to a football manager these days is like listening to a politician speak, they have mastered the art of talking without saying anything.
just another example of the sterilization of the game.

apparently FSG were getting a bit of stick from the journo`s on the sunday supplement this morning.
` FSG as bad as the last lot, making a mess of liverpool - just trying to hide behind pr but we can see through it`
didnt see the program myself (had a few bevvies last night to drown my sorrows and got up late) but FSG and brendan will soon learn that trying to be media friendly when you are in charge of LFC is impossible. houllier found that out when `his mates` in the press rounded on him like a pack of hyena`s.
kenny was lambasted for the way he treated the press but he had been at this club since 1977 and knows the score, brendan like ged in his early days probably thinks most of the journo`s are his mates but he had to wake up this morning to headlines of `barcelona my @rse, more like bootle`.
the newspaper i read this morning questioned his signings after 1 game and even said joe allen was anonymous even though he was probably our best player.

John W Henry and Tom Werner know how the media work which is why they're reluctant to put themselves and the club in position where we dominate the media headlines for the wrong reasons. I often wish that Liverpool football club had nothing to do with the media, no interviews, nothing! Just statements and interviews run by the website.

What’s the alternative? Constantly treat the media as something we found on the bottom of our shoe all of the time and get the same treatment back all of the time, or actually try have a relationship with them and get cut some slack from time to time. The media are part of football and here to stay whether we like it or not. We don’t make the rules but we can at least try and play the game.

Thank Jehovah for forums such as this, where the deluded and opinionated get the opportunity to tell us all how others we have never met, who run multi-million $ businesses, and have more smarts than all of us combined, actually think or how they should act.
This place is getting worse....

what you do is win things, thats how you get the media onside.
ferguson treats the media like shyte but they respect him because they respect winners, it was the same with kenny back in the 80`s, he couldnt stand the media and they probably couldnt stand him but they put up with his one line answers and sarky remarks because he was a winner.
all these phoney pr exercises to get the press onside like what ged tried to do are a waste of time, the press has never been backward in putting the boot into this club or this city anyway so we should just ignore the ******

What do you do if you are currently not winning things?

Oh and this whole thing about the media and FA having an agenda against the club and city is complete bollox. The stick directed at us is a direct consequence of that type of attitude.

just because someone is a successful number crunching venture capitalist who learned to read trends in the markets doesnt mean they know how to run a football club, if you were the owner of a footy club would you ask an american baseball stats guru his opinion on who should be your DoF?
no neither would i.

You don't need to be a Scouser to notice the hate-filled agenda that the English media has against Liverpool football club and the people of the city of Liverpool.

Born a scouser and back here for the past 10 years but lived all over the country due to work. Obvious incident aside I don’t subscribe to this “everyone is against us” ***** that “real fans” constantly real out. It’s pathetic.

I bet if the Football Association had a poll amongst a majority of football fans up and down the country this club would top the most hated list by a countrymile. I've yet to meet many fans from many different clubs who don't slate Liverpool and state how much they hate the club, its history and its supporters.
