Allen hasn't even signed and already called overrated ?!

If his name was Jose Allenso I guarentee the attitude would be different from certain people.

Allen is a very good player - where he comes from shouldn't matter.

It would be very different! There would be less expectation and he would have cost half the price!

Wish all this Joe Allen stuff would dissappear, we have Gerrard, Lucas, Henderson, Adam, Shelvey and Spearing (don't know how he's lasted this long at the club).

We will play 4-3-3 if Allen signs where does this leave Shelvey, Henderson, Adam and Spearing.  I think Shelvey looks decent but Henderson and Adam will turn out to be a waste of £28,000,000.

I have also seen we've been linked with Quaresma for £6,000,000, i'd take him.  He's a poor mans Ronaldo extremely skillfull, just can be a bit lazy.

I can see Bellamy’s exit triggering the Allen and Dempsey signings with Adam going to Fulham. Can’t see us then signing another striker or wide forward unless Carroll goes. Already got enough bodies for the front 3 positions with Suarez, Borini, Downing Cole, Carroll and Dempsey. I’m surprised that Rodgers has decided to hang onto Cole when we probably could have sold him to another premier league club.

allen isnt bad in fairness,i can see the potential but just not worth that fee especially seen as we already have shelvey who deserves a decent chance and hendo who deserves another year to see if he can make it under a new manager with a new approach.both of those players are decent cover even if allen does arrive but that means we have to lose some so id choose spearing and adam.
we have loads of work horses in the team so we can afford to carry someone who isnt so id take quaresma at 6mil over cole anyday and you can be guaranteed he'l be getting nothing like coles wage packet.id even have sterling over cole tbh.

No surprise the transfer market is in meltdown. With few noticeable exceptions there is little movement and I'm pretty sure behind closed doors many players are being offered around to reduce wage bills but few takers for just that reason, unless its bargain cheap and a low wage clubs simply aren't interested/able to afford. The bubble has burst despite increased tv revenue.

I rate Allen and if you look at his stats last year, he was class. Yet can't help but feel we're getting mugged off for the umpteenth time in terms of buying British talent. You look at Cazorla, Podolski and even Giroud for less and Wenger is doing something right

£15m is a lot of money for someone who has spent all his career bar 1 season in the lower divisions. i hope he can handle the price tag and the pressure of playing for a big club. the liverpool shirt is the heaviest shirt in the game, the weight of history / expectation / pressure is just too much for some players.

Certainly Lucas and Allen patrolling in front of the back four is appealing, even if it means there may not be a lot of other movement coming in?

it's a good signing lads, ignore the negative lot this is a key signing for how we are gonna set our stall out next season.
