I think the owners are OK, they wanna tread carefully given what has gone on with the H&G cr.ap they dpn't wanna meddle too much, they have a hierarchy struture in place and Ian Ayre is adequate.

Luis will not be sold, nore does he wanna go.. so lets ease minds and add to the workforce in the summer to win that firiggin no 19... come on Mac City too !!

damn right. this would have been a million times worse under the old regime. you'd have had hicks whoring himself all over sky sports news ever other day putting his foot in his mouth. gillett would have been nowhere to be seen. they had no plans to take the club forward in any way shape or form.

The only way forward now is to win games. The media will soon move on to other juicey stories if we're winning kenny knows that. If we're losing they will keep tearing into us. I really hope kenny can create a seige mentality. I hope he can recover from this. Fingers crossed we should win the FA Cup tie and Carling Cup final, we also have some very winable games coming up in the league. If we can get through them in a winning streak the media will move on to the trouble at Chelsea Arsenal etc etc and this will be old news.

So, lets recap on the involvement of the owners, you decide whether they happy or sad.

Director of football - gone.
Football manager - gone.
Director of communications - gone.
Sports science boss and team - gone.

From what little I know of the club management team, only Ayres, the MD is left.

Appointments:

Chief Commercial Officer - Billy Hogan ex- Fenway Sports Management
Communications Director - Jens Chan - ex Sports Illustrated
Director of football - 'possibly' Van Gaal
Manager - 'possibly Martinez'

The owners have taken control of this club back over the pond, their own man from FSM as COO and unaffected by football, an Sports Illustrated comms director to do things the owners way, Martinez - meeting the owners manager style and profile but only as long as he agrees to play a lesser role than he wants or had at Wigan where he had more overall control and possibly Van Gaal who seems the odd man out - brings experience but known as a narky no compromise character. Probably won't get the job unless he compromises his position as well. Interesting FSG are doing the manager interviews, not Ayres, as MD I'll be pretty miffed.  Who's pulling the strings in the background recommending the candidates in the first place I wonder, someone is working unseen.

I'm surprised they didn't call Hogan the CEO - does this mean they're bringing in someone else? Is Hogan responsible for the new stadium as COO?

I tell you, these owners are different and they've decided to some extent to take Liverpool out of the club and put their own team there until we're up and running again - then maybe Hogan will go back and Chang  will quietly slip back Stateside but from for now, the owners gave the local boys a chance - Kenny, Comolli etc.. and it hasn't worked out. They've got their money tied up and they're not willing to risk the same mistakes again - they've taken control of the situation.

If it doesn't work out then they can't blame the locals, however whether its good or bad only time will tell. Where does this leave Ayres, are his days numbered?

Ben Smith was answering a question regarding LFC transfers on twitter, he said that we are looking to resolve the Carroll issue first before we buy, so I guess the sale of Carroll will determine our transfer.

It's a shame, other teams are investing heavily while we look to adopt the same policy tw!t & tw@t used to do, but without the debt.

It's a shame, other teams are investing heavily while we look to adopt the same policy tw!t & tw@t used to do, but without the debt.

If there is a "Carroll issue" then it's obvious we don't have him in our future plans.

but he`s not obliged to go, and if carroll does manage to convince rodgers he has a future here he certainly wouldnt be the first liverpool player to come in from the cold.
mark wright was sent to coventry (figuratively speaking) by the club for months, he wasnt even allowed to train with the first team or the reserves but after a terrible run of injuries he was recalled and next minute he was so impressive he was club captain.

the problem with selling to buy is that you have got to make a lot of good decisions, and because transfers are a lottery even at the best of times to be successful you need a hell of a lot of good luck as well as good judgement.

It certainly looks that way.  Maybe its because we have no CL money. 
But we won't be getting that if we dont invest...

Im gonna wait and see for now as its still to early, but with Kuyt and Maxi gone and Borini in, Im not sure how much that improves the squad...

The biggest problem some on here fail to grasp is that Rodgers doesn't see the squad as weak as you see it. He sees potential in both individuals, who maybe failed last year (Henderson), and the team as a whole.

Prepare yourself and take a seat...

You could say he was optimistic.

I really haven't mader my mind up about the owners one way or the other. They're making it very hard for me to do so. Their net spend since being here is about £45m. Hardly heavy investment.

Also, the stadium issue isn't an issue for me. They aren't going to build one. Not sure how people can't have realised that by now.
