Yes. He's also not in a position to ask for such money, and neither are you of course.

Brendan Rodgers is a new manager at this club. The Euros have kept some of his players away from the training camp for a few weeks, there's a few on holiday too. He hasn't had them all together yet to even begin to assess the team and where he needs to improve. He already knows Sigurdsson is a players he wants however his wage demands will not be met. That to me says Brendan is not going to be pushed over.

Sigurdsson was happy to move to Swansea with Brendan in charge. so, club status, history or prestige wasn't a problem for him. He was also happy enough to come to Liverpool with Brendan instead of signing for Swansea...   until Spurs stuck their noses in and waved a bag full of cash at him. Now he looks like he's off to a club with no manager, that can not guarantee him first team football all for the sake of a higher pay packet. That to me and most people would ring alarm bells. Liverpool have said they won't bow to his wage demands. 

as for him being Brendans main target, maybe due to the fact Brendan has not had much time to look at his new team together means he hasn't any others main targets...   yet. So this  fella will do for starters as Brendan already has done the homework on him.

If Sigurdsson ignores Spurs and signs for us then he's done it for the right reasons, however todays footballer ethics tell me he'll be at Spurs next season.

I hope Brendan gets some of the key positions we lack in sorted out. We will need to invest as his style of football lends itself to a certain type of player and I think we probably lack in a few areas as we stand but give him time I'm sure he'll sort it.

we're a far bigger club than spurs. both clubs are in the europa next season.

Lads! just heard...    Liverpool have made enquiries about Adam Johnson. To the point that Adam has been asked if the proposed move would interest him. The only thing that could scupper it will be the price set by Man city. they may want too much for him.

At times he has looked good cutting inside and scoring but that seems to happen when his club are already leading. I would prefer a proper right sided player not a left sided player cutting inside

Adam Johnson is not worth 16Mil and 75k a week in wages. His career has stagnated because he plays as an individual and starts dreaming of his name in lights every time he gets the ball. He takes far too many touches. He’ll be 25 soon and has nearly played 250 career games yet he still plays like a youth team player. He still has a long way to go to be a top 4 player so 10Mil and 50k a week is as far as we should go.

That would be a good option for us. If he could develop from a talented individual into a strong team player over the 12 months he would be worth 10-15mil. If not, City can have him back.
