Who mentioned Martinez and why all this pro Rafa *****, stop looking back people, we need to look forward and move on

the pro rafa Sh*t is because he`s a good manager who has won trophies, oh sorry, keep forgetting, as of this morning they dont count

And what has he won since the FA cup

we got to the european cup final in 2007 lad, the day after the big news story was benitez telling the fans that the 2 yanks were carpetbaggers.
he got to a another semi final and a second place finish in the league despite making a profit for the club 3 transfer windows running and with the owners on his back.
how the f**k do you expect him to compete with the likes of arsenal, chelsea and united when we had to sell players to pay off the interest on the clubs debts?
have you forgot we were a day away from going under?
in italy he only got a few months, how was he supposed to do anything in that time? even so he won the italian super cup and the world club championship for inter
the reason other teams dont want him is in this country he is seen as liverpool through and through plus he is seen as someone who`s not scared to stand up to owners.

The owners have said its not about winning trophies it's about CL football.
where did they say that? was it on tv?
Go and read what Ian Ayre has to say.
"“People don’t want to hear that football is a business. They want to see us put lots of money into the football team and win lots of trophies. But you have got to have continued progress in the league. If you don’t get into the Champions League, you are writing cheques from your own pocket. That is not a sustainable way going forward.”

i know but the problem is that to get into the cl you have to be good in the prem....but goingt buy the list the owners have i do see amanager on there that will put us top 4.

Rafa is a manager who put us into the CL

Who is your choice then

And that list currently is pure speculation with two confirmed

If you listen to every journo ***** the list would be about 30 strong

i dont know, they will look at Rafa and see what he did in his last year here and how the team fell apart, they would not risk it.

I hope our owners aren't as narrow minded as you and will look past just the one season and look at the other seasons as well - they want to see us the top club in Europe and one man managed that with us.

If they don't look at Rafa then I would like to know who is advising them.

His record stands our amongst his peers and that is FACT

They should be looking at someone like Rafa - they should at least interview him.

Do we really want to go back to playing not to lose, rather than playing to win?
To go back to robotic subs?
To go back to bizarre and ridiculous decisions that have people scratching their heads?
To go back to bad man management that pisses off key players and makes them want to leave?

No thanks.

Things may be looking bad at the moment, but I hope that the owners don't jump to any more rash conclusions.

Lad, it looks like you're new here, so do yourself a favour and search for some of the threads from 2008,2009 and 2010 and refresh your memory about Benitez.

There's a reason why he still hasn't got a job.

i was sitting in the stadium during that time lad not in dublin.
i`ve been watching us since the mid 70`s lad, i grew up around the ground, following this club has given me some of the greatest moments of my life.

Big deal.

Benitez HAD to go. His time was over. There's no sense in going back to that.

I don't know where the answer lies for Liverpool's current woes, but Benitez isn't it, that's for damn sure.

Rafa did not have to go - the owners had to go and then new owners to back Rafa. Unfortunatly some fan's saw Rafa as the problem.

No harm in granting all interested parties with an interview, especially if they have a good CL portfolio....

The only response so far is a Swansea manager shows no interest in the job

YOU may be happy, Benny, with a manager that simply goes for CL every season to the detriment of everything else. But, I'd wager most fans would want more than that.

He gave us our best prem season in 20 odd years - he went for the competitions he thought we had the best chance of winning , he was building a team to challenge for all competitions until the players sales started and debt mounted.

I want a manager to build us into one of the best clubs in Europe and the Prem - Rafa did that.

The owners want the CL to be able to build well Rafa is the man that got us CL.
