Speaking of that, we haven't really said much about getting rid of any "dead wood" after last summer, or getting rid of any players in general. Anybody seem destined to leave this summer, or that we should get rid of?

I think the obvious ones are Cole and Aqualani. I could see Kuyt wanting to play elsewhere just to finish on a high note, but I don't expect it. I could see Aurelio leaving as well, he's made it clear he wants to play and he's not seen much at all. I could even see Brad Jones leaving now that we've signed Doni.

Other then that, I can't see anybody else leaving. Can't imagine any of our new signing being shown the door yet, and everybody else seems happy, useful, or young with potential.

Stephan Darby, Doni, Brad Jones, Fabio Aurelio, Alberto Aquilani, Nathan Eccleston and maybe Danny Wilson.

We desperately need a strong DM as Spearing for all his heart and passion isn't good enough.

Those lot can't be on that much. And wasn't Aurelio only on a 1 year deal anyway?

Spearing isn't good enough, never has been. I know he is a local lad but aside from playing against the bottom end sides he struggles.

We never replaced Xabi or Mascherano so we need to spend some serious money across the board this summer if we want 4th place next season.

spearing is a good back up to lucas who is the number 1 DM at the club, if we have money to spend i think we still need a wide player that can go past a man and chip in with a few goals.
someone in the mould of robben, someone like that.

Not as good as some people are making out but worth it at 10MIL Euros (half what we paid for Downing). He will play second fiddle to Ribery and Robben.

Rafa's business is finished at Liverpool...and his agent has said he's open to any offers in England. So make of that what you will....

Was watching the Basel game yesterday, and Joo-Ho Park impressed the hell out of me on the left wing. really good with his feet, and his passing was great. Pinpoint passes and crosses, and created quite a few of their decent chances. Only 25 years old.
