Wish we would make more of an effort to try get these future stars in before they get into a middle table side. After that we've no chance. Take Aguero for example, I reckon had we had the money at the time Rafa might have gone for him. I'm sure there are others too.
My new blog for my upcoming holiday.

I'll be quite happy to say that player will amount to a career of nothing significant.

He wouldnt be still playing in that league at 21 without the whole world after him.

I think it's prob safe to assume the "You Tube" highlights are his only highlights (aka Gonzalez )

We also have to take into account the slim chances of getting work permits for these supposed you tube sensations.

Bayern Munich have signed Switzerland forward Xherdan Shaqiri, 20, from FC Basel on a four-year contract commencing this summer.

Missed out on that one. Great talent that.

So some big named guy from South America has claimed that Cavani will join us this summer.  Apparently he's got all sorts of connections, and people often mistake him as Cavani's agent because he seems to know what's going on with Cavani's career.

That would be fantastic, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Reds alert as Isla hints at Udinese exit

February 18, 2012

By ESPNsoccernet staff

Liverpool have been put on alert after Udinese's Mauricio Isla confirmed he is set to leave the Stadio Friuli at the end of the season.

Chile international Isla, who can play anywhere on the right flank, was heavily linked with a move away from Udinese in the January transfer window but the Italian club were unwilling to let him go.

But Isla, who suffered a season-ending knee injury against AC Milan last weekend, has spoken with Udinese's officials and is ready to move on, possibly to the Premier League.

"I talked to Gino Pozzo (son of Udinese owner Giampaolo), who decided to let me go at the end of the season," the 23-year-old told La Tercera.

"I do not exclude the possibility of staying as I was asked to stay for another year. But, for now, all I think about is recovering from this injury as soon as possible."

Isla's agent claimed earlier in February that Serie A rivals Juventus, Roma are also keeping an eye on his client.

"I think he is being tracked by Liverpool and other Italian clubs like Juventus and Roma," Leo Rodriguez told BK Sport. "I'm sure that these clubs have already initiated contacts with Udinese."

i can't believe Bayern got Shaqiri for merely €10 million! those are type of players we should be getting - fast, creative and not afraid to take on defenders.

Junior Hoilett is actually available for free at the season's end. is he any good? he could leave Blackburn seeing that they have a high chance to get relegated, along with Wigan, whose best player is easily Victor Moses.

Season-ending knee injury. No more signing injured players please. And no more "we didn't sign him for 5 months but 5 years" pls...

Watching all the games Chile play I would say he is a very good player but not really what we need.

Always consistent and very good technically with the ball, he has a very, very good passing range. His best attribute is his running, he is an energizer bunny, he just never stops running!

The long-term injury he has has recently sustained should dampen any efforts we are rumoured in signing him.

In hind-sight if we had signed Arturo Vidal, he would have been a much more accomplished young midfield player then Henderson, but unfortunately now plies his trade at Juventus.

I really like Arturo Vidal, he is one of the players I wanted to see at Liverpool when Xabi left, good passer of the ball, positional sense, work rate and he can he can strike the ball sweetly!

Very good player.  Probably second best Chilean player right now behind Sanchez.

Can't disagree with that.

Amazing that Juventus bought him for only 12.5million and the solid season he is having has lifted them to the top of Seria A.

Wished sooo much to see Vidal in a Liverpool shirt

Bear in mind the wage bill is too big already and we're going through a financial crisis. Apart from that, everything's hunky dory.
