couple more rumours which may affect us...

Scott Dann could become the third Birmingham player to go to Sunderland this summer with Steve Bruce considering making a move for the 24-year-old centre-back.

Arsenal and Chelsea are also interested in the 6ft 5in Blues defender, whose proposed £12m transfer to Stoke collapsed last week.

Bolton defender Gary Cahill could become Andre Villas-Boas' first signing as Chelsea manager. The 25-year-old centre-half, who could cost around £17m, is also wanted by Arsenal and Tottenham.

After missing out on Jones, we really need a good centreback. Cahill or Dann would fit the bill, butwe may needd to act soon otherwise we may miss out again...

Charlie Adam bud, I really rate this guy.

adam has had a great season but im not sure that wil be the case this term, plus i dont see where he will fit into the team

Don't know why some of our fans think Adam can take Lucas's role in the team? Firstly Adam's defensive game is extremely suspect and secondly Lucas has finally begun to show the form that he was bought for, why drop him now?

A midfield of Adam & Gerrard would be suicide defensively as would Gerrard & Mereiles which many people have tauted as their first choice

Lucas is a better player than Adam, so i wouldnt waste 10 million on a downgrade

For me Gerrard is a much better defender then lucas he is just not played in that position ,Adam is also much more built to defend then Meireles. Having Gerrard and Adam would give us much more options in attack overall control on the pitch.

Lucas for me is a very one dimentional player and i don't rate his defensive skills suprior as such to grant him a permenant first shirt in Liverpool.(stopped counting the amount of fouls he is giving near the penalty box). We can leave him as a squad player and if the Adam-Gerrard combo doesn't work bump him back. No harm in trying.

No harm in trying? apart from 10 million quid down the drain.

I would rather we stick with the midfield we currently have and build quality in elsewhere.

We have enough midfield players to find several combinations that work and plenty of cover. Dont buy Adam and we still have Stevie, Lucas, Meireles, and Aqua as well as Henderson.

What we need is a left back and a winger first and foremost. Then a centre back and cover up front - then we should start looking at central midfield again!

Well down in my list of priorities.

Totally agree with your priority list.

Just saying if we have a chance ,financialy as well ,in getting Adam i don't see anything wrong about it. I think Aqua staying is a pure speculation and risk ,Meireles probably leaving and Lucas like i wrote before...

Lucas is an automatic pick for me regardless of the fact we have signed Henderson and are apparently chasing Adam.

If Adam is being seen as a replacement for Aqualani then I support as Kenny doesn't fancy Aquilani with his injury record etc and wants a more british spine but if he is seen as a replacement for Meireles then I am dead against it as Meireles did a great job for us last season.

How can you say that? Aqua ,while it might not be fair ,was totally at loss in the hight tempo english football not to say his chronic injuries ,didn't show any of the potential he has.

Meireles ,scored some beutiful goals but was MIA so many games that it is just unaccaptable.

Adam had a great season ,was very active and dominant and showd a lot of character and stamina.
Henderson ,didn't really follow him but i trust Kenny ,although seems we over paid again.

Meireles and Aqua from what i'v seen aren't the ideal players for the Premierleague ,they are too soft and would often get bullied and roughed up.
