If the price being quoted is correct (i.e. £4M) thn absolutely worth a punt!

Yes I agree, for £4 million, SWP has a lot to prove and why not do it at LFC?

He can be inconsistent but how are you supposed to get any kind of consistency when you are in the team one week and out the next. I think that with game time he would be an asset and at £4M I would think far better business than the combined £9M-£10M we spent on Konchesky and Poulson...!

Although i'd love to see

Johnson   Kelly   Agger   Fabio

              Lucas

     Miereles     Gerrard

Suso        Torres       Suarez

But we can only dream :D

Possibly best deployed as part of the 3 in a 4-2-3-1 alongside any other 2 from Gerrard, Meireles, Cole, Kuyt or Pacheco.

That would of course require us to have 2 solid CM's which we don't have at the moment. Maybe if he wasn't asked to be too mobile then Van Bommell could do a job but I would prefer us to bolster in there with a younger more mobile player like Chiek Tiote from Newcastle...

I was a big fan of SWP and was on here saying we should sign him when he left Chelski for Citeh.

That was a few year ago, and he's pushing 30 now, and has been largely invisible due to a lack of games recently.

I'd certainly risk a loan spell on him, and even £3m-£4m at a push.  He gives width and pace, and we don't have much of either at the moment.

I very much doubt we'll go for him though.

Just watched the You tube link and got to say he looks impressive.

Previously when we have signed players and been directed to You tube you get maybe half a dozen moments but his clip is packed with close in goals, poachers goals, team goals, volleys, free kicks, individual, chip ins.

The only reservation is that he is very temperamental and has his fair share of controversy. At a time in the clubs history when we need stability and resolve I'm just not sure Suarez will give us that. I suppose if we are doing well then he will be brilliant but what happens when we struggle ?

I've been refreshing the :censored: out of RAWK the past 2-3 days, someone there has been pretty spot on with the developments and is now saying that its being finalized and to expect an announcement Friday.

Hi Ben,

Its easy to see why you would take him mate but at Liverpool FC we have been making player purchases for years now and although on a few occasions we got it very right all too often we got it badly wrong !

Players such as Hyppia, Torres, Alonso, Reina, Masca, etc..... have been astute and successful buys but in the last 5 or so seasons we have bought players who quite simply haven't lived up to the hype and in many ways have gone backwards.

I am desperate for us to turn the corner and become a force again but buying a player who can help us do that is much more complicated than it first appears. The player in question (Suarez) has some pretty serious discipline problems and lets not forget his blatant handball at the World Cup. What I am trying to say is it is not just the amount of goals a player can score that matters. he has to fit into the Liverpool mould and I am not convinced he does.

Time will tell I suppose but £25 million is a lot of money and a huge gamble for me.

Walk on .............

I trust Dalglish's decision on this player would be a good one.

I'm sure he can sort out his disciplinary issues with a bit of talking :;):

I don't think its the reported 25m though, less than that.

The real deal Dags ...I do get what your saying ,but if a player the calibre of Torres struggles in a team devoid of any confidence ,then it surely shouldn't  reflect on his  undoubted  overall ability to be a top striker when surrounded with players of similar talent .....the same should be said of Suarez who is already more equipped to cope than Torres with his sublime first touch, and from what I have seen a  confidence issue  is something that won't plague Suarez     ..... I honestly believe this would signify to the football world that Nesv have arrived and they intend putting the Reds back where they belong .....
