to be fair but just a bid of good transfer business from us to get closer to the price we initially offered. RED BEERGOGGLES wrote:Dalglish wrote:Just watched the You tube link and got to say he looks impressive.
Previously when we have signed players and been directed to You tube you get maybe half a dozen moments but his clip is packed with close in goals, poachers goals, team goals, volleys, free kicks, individual, chip ins.
The only reservation is that he is very temperamental and has his fair share of controversy. At a time in the clubs history when we need stability and resolve I'm just not sure Suarez will give us that. I suppose if we are doing well then he will be brilliant but what happens when we struggle ?
The real deal Dags ...I do get what your saying ,but if a player the calibre of Torres struggles in a team devoid of any confidence ,then it surely shouldn't reflect on his undoubted overall ability to be a top striker when surrounded with players of similar talent .....the same should be said of Suarez who is already more equipped to cope than Torres with his sublime first touch, and from what I have seen a confidence issue is something that won't plague Suarez ..... I honestly believe this would signify to the football world that Nesv have arrived and they intend putting the Reds back where they belong .....

I trust your judgement mate and like myself I know you want the very best for LFC.
I am not trying to be a damp squib here. Maybe like Torres I am lacking a bit of confidence after seeing our descent in the last couple of years !
Looks like it might be a done deal and with Kenny there at the helm I am confident he can keep the lads discipline in check.
It would send out a serious message of intent from the owners thats for sure......

Dalglish wrote:Hi Ben,
Its easy to see why you would take him mate but at Liverpool FC we have been making player purchases for years now and although on a few occasions we got it very right all too often we got it badly wrong !
Players such as Hyppia, Torres, Alonso, Reina, Masca, etc..... have been astute and successful buys but in the last 5 or so seasons we have bought players who quite simply haven't lived up to the hype and in many ways have gone backwards.
I am desperate for us to turn the corner and become a force again but buying a player who can help us do that is much more complicated than it first appears. The player in question (Suarez) has some pretty serious discipline problems and lets not forget his blatant handball at the World Cup. What I am trying to say is it is not just the amount of goals a player can score that matters. he has to fit into the Liverpool mould and I am not convinced he does.
Time will tell I suppose but £25 million is a lot of money and a huge gamble for me.
Walk on .............
