If it's true we are going for players like Elmander or Cole then I think quite a few be :censored:.ed of with NESV. We were supposed to be bridging the gap between us and the teams above us, not bringing more mediocre players. Elmander is having a good season but he's what 29? We need decent young players.

If you look at what the new owners have said about signing good young players so many of these rumours can be discounted. NESV want either the best young players or world class players in their prime.  This is what John Henry has said on several occasions.

Let's not panic before the window even opens.

I don't think we will do anything in Jan. Or if we do it will not be any superstar coming in simply because the January window is not a good time to get top quality.  The summer transfer window is where we will be able to guage the intent of Mr Henry.
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

I would be very surprised if we were in for Elmander.
He is quite old and like someone else said before this season he was terrible.
We will obviously have to wait and see what happens but i also dont think there will be a major signing in January.
The better players are generally not available at that time of year.

I think they will have to do some business in January given the squad is very thin and some of our better players  are prone to picking up knocks and can be out a while. Even a couple of loans would tick us over but if they do nothing its going to be a struggle with what we have on the books at the minute and Hodgson surely wouldnt survive with this group if he doesnt recruit when he has chance.

That's what I said 'if it's true'

Overall though people don't generally spend big in the Jan window. But this Jan is different. The new fair play rules come into force in the summer so we need to get in whatever we can in the next transfer window.

Rumours surfacing on a potential signing for Connor Wickham.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport....VE.html

Dont know much about this guy but Its understood he's a boyhood Liverpool fan & idolises Fernando Torres. 6ft 4ins, potentially as good as Ronney @ £10m?
