Lucas neill

Liverpool Football Club - The Rumour Mill

Postby red37 » Tue Aug 22, 2006 11:23 am

is this for real? lucas neill.... ???

i have to say. as defensively sound as the guy is. he aint Liverpool class. and in a period of current discussion as to who occupies the left side of the park ie riise/aurelio et al.
it is equally if not more so, relevant that the RIGHT flank gets some attention. because imb take Finnan out of the picture. we are exremely bare in that dept.

i can understand the touting of right-backs/wing-backs...whatever you call them, we are short. lets face it Alves was the prize rafa cherished for the role. though who knows. qualification for the CL group phase added to a few bob for the rest of the deadwood and we might have a sniff of getting the sevilla player in january.  i hope and expect the position to at least be strengthened sooner rather than later...

but not with neill  ???  id sooner jamie carragher did it again.

You did compare Carragher to Neill using his coin throwing mistake as an example. It was a blatantly obvious attempt to rile someone into an argument. You need to get a life.
People can have a different opinion than me, thats fine....but anyone who wants Lucas Neill at the club needs to take a look at the dirty fecker in action.
1 game played this season, one sending off, no thanks.

I'm not looking for an argument, I have kept my posts rather open and I have not been in "search" of an argument as you put it. I think Lucas is a good player and I'd like to see him in our squad, I don't see that as a problem. As for me trying to rile someone into an argument I think not and I believe it's you who needs to "get a life" seeing as you were crying a few weeks ago in another thread when I was "making you look like k.nob".

Lucas is a good player, I like him and we need a player of his ability in our squad to improve it.

Jib buying this dirty kunt for a lark, hes an average player who played above his ability in the world cup. He must get sent off every 3-4 games and the horrible kunt left carras leg hanging by a thread. THE FUC.KER GOT BOOED AT ANFIELD for his shocking career threatin tackle on carra.

no thanks lucas, continue shaggin sheep in woolsville land coz your not wanted here.

i dont think hes any better than kromkramp tbh, they both have tendencies to give stupid free kicks away in and around the box. And thats the only reason kromkamps public enemy, coz he gives them free kicks away.

Again try and belittle saying i was crying is a strange comment. I was p!ssed off but would hardly have been crying.
You are entitled to your opinion on Neill as a footballer but to compare his disciplinary record or behaviour to Jamie Carragher based on one mistake that Jamie made is not something an actual Liverpool supporter would do.
We'll leave the name calling out of this one but i know that you are a wind up merchant, thats seems to enjoy having personal arguments over the internet.

:no

If that's what you think, then you think that, but I'm not! It seems as though you don't like it when someone has a different opinion to your own.

Now if you don't mind, this thread is designed to be about Lucas Niel, not you trying to score points.

Alonso also had a different opinion to me and that doesnt bother me, i dont rate him (Neil)as a player and think that he would bring more problems than solutions, i just took exception to the mention of Carragher as a similar offender from one incident.
I am happy to leave it at that, and for fans to think he is good enough for LFC, everyone has a different opinion, the one where you will be in the minority though is comparing him to world class players like Keane and Souness, the only similarity was they liked to mix it. He is nowhere near a worldclass player, and if the link with Barcelona was actually true he would be there now.

Let's set something straight here.

Lucas Neill was never "linked" with Barcelona, the second in charge at Barca, Johan Neeskens, who also happened to be Hiddink's right-hand man for Australia at the World Cup, only said he was good enough for Barca. I doubt for one second that Rijkaard actually wanted him, because he's nowhere near good enough for Barca or us IMO.

He's a good player don't get me wrong. He's good in the tackle (albeit bloody dangerous), has decent reading of the game and his distribution is pretty good, not bad in the air either.

That being said, he's a dirty kunt who broke Carragher's leg and has numerous sending offs for many other career - threatening tackles.

I will be very dissappointed if we sign him as  a) he's a dirty :censored: and b) we have Finnan and Kromkamp if he wnats to play RB, and Hyppia, Carra, Agger and Palletta at centre-half if he plays there (which he did for Australia and has done for Blackburn).

:censored: off Neill, we don't want or need you.

Lucas Neill is good player for Blackburn, if that is anything to go by??!??

"A player of his ability..."
What ability? He is nothing special and it worries me that a club our our prestige is looking to sign someone as average as Lucas Neill. He is a liability, he has no real pace (hence the hacking when player skin him), quite frankly I find it hard to see what he offers to any team bar being a thug. And lets be honest that seems to be Mark Hughes strategy at Blackburn.

BTW its spelt Neill not Neil

That is very funny considering you supported Real Madrid before Istanbul.

What's more is you cried like a baby when I joked about it last year

How does that go.. oh yeah "people in glass houses should not throw stones".

What a lemon

Oi, melon look here. You see the join date under this username? Was I ''supporting'' Real Madrid when I joined at that time? Since you seem to know everything about me, tell me lemon.

Now look at the user date under my original username, was I ''supporting'' Real Madrid then lemon?

You seem to know things more about me than I do, so go ahead please enlighten me lemon.

Now please tell me what made you think that I ''supported'' Real Madrid at any stage of my life?

I've never supported them, I have however paid attention to their results because of the Yugoslavian influence in the club.
-Davor Šuker
-Robert Prosinecki
-Robert Jarni
-Predrag Mijatovic
-Dejan Petkovic
-Perica Ognjenovic
-Elvir Baljic

All from either Bosnia,Croatia or Serbia (former Yugoslavia).Which is most people[myself included] back home paid close attention to how they did at their respective clubs and all of them at one stage or another played at Madrid.

-Miljan Miljanic
-Vujadin Boškov
-Radomir Antic

The three above each managed Madrid at one point at time, so now you understand the influence Yugoslavian at Real Madrid.

I never supported the club, I paid attention to the players from my origin that played there. Capiche, lemon?

  Oh no

Neill set for Anfield move

Australian World Cup star Lucas Neill could join fellow Socceroo Harry Kewell at English Premier League club Liverpool by the end of the week.

The defender has rejected a new contract with his current club Blackburn Rovers and has also dismissed interest from Tottenham Hotspur because he says he does not want to live in London.

Neill has been banned from Blackburn's match against Everton tomorrow morning after being sent off on the weekend.

He is expected to sign with Liverpool after serving his suspension.

Robbie Slater (ex - socceroo) said on Saturday night before the LFc game (Oz time) that he had heard pretty concrete stories that Neill would be signing for us.

I'm still hoping he's badly misinformed.

I now have a headache, even more than the one I got when Lee Bowyer nearly signed that time.

Is anyone actually in favour of lucas neill coming to LFC?  Personally i dont like the bloke for obvious reasons but i do think he is a pretty solid full-back.

Im just worried about the prospect of having just kromkamp as cover for finnan all season.  Really dont think he is good and saw him as a big weak point on saturday.

Is there anyone else available if Neill is not the answer? obviously we know that Alves would be the main solution but we have been out-priced on that one.

Please dont assume i am in favour of Neill coming to us? just posing the question as i havent seen any positive response about the link yet.
