while we dilly and dally over not wanting to pay the price tag, man u or chelski will nip in and just steal him away.

If we have indeed offered £25 mil total and they are holding out for £27 mil then I really dont see why they dont just pay the asking price.

Roma are reported to have rejected a £12.7m offer from Liverpool for Brazilian winger Mancini according to SSN.

Roma are reported to have rejected a bid from Liverpool for Alessandro Mancini.

Reports emanating from Italy suggest Roma have shunned an offer from the English club for the talented Brazilian.

Reds boss Rafa Benitez is believed to have put Mancini on his list of transfer targets this summer as he looks to add to his attacking options at Anfield.

Mancini enjoyed a fine season with Roma last term and he has established himself as a key player in the Giallorossi side.

Liverpool have been quiet in the transfer market so far this summer, but they are believed to have offered €19million (£12.7million) for the skilful winger.

Roma have previously rebuffed Liverpool overtures and are thought to be putting together a new deal to keep Mancini in the Italian capital until 2012.

This lad is supposed to be pretty special so hopefully Rafa and the board are prepared to up the ante in a bid to get him to anfield.

Would be pleased if we got Mancini.  I think at least £15 mil will have to be paid to tempt Roma into selling.

rejection is to be expected. clubs think we've got tonnes of cash now so they'll hold out for more money.

however, we'll just dawdle about now and lose him cos we'll take too long.

If we manage to get Mancini I'll be a lot happier since he is just the type of quality we need on the wing - and he is versatile, he can play left wing or right wing no problem.

£15m and I'd say deal.

Once again same story with Mancini as with Malouda.
Rafa thought 10-15m would be enough but there is no way it's gonna happen. If Roma outright reject 13m then it tells me the fee will be skyhigh.
Manure set the standard with Nani and Anderson.

Now every club want 15m+ for their top wingers.

The problem we and many other english clubs are definately gonna have/having this summer is the fact that all of the other leagues in Europe are nowhere near as rich as the premiership. They see the multi billion pound TV deals, billionaires taking over clubs every month and the are all thinking right we want some of that money falling into our coffers. The manc scum have decided that fook it they're gonna pay ridiculous money for all three of their signings so far and following on from chel$ki in the past few years the stakes seem to be spiralling upwards.
As for Mancini and any of Rafa's other targets I think he and the board are gonna have to bite the bullett and pay that little bit extra if we're going to launch a title bid.

why have i got the feeling it will be the same as the past few summers were it takes us up to the very last minute to sign a player who will end up being second rate.,we never mean buisness and get our man straight away,I dont know were this problems lies, whether it lies with the owners or a very certain Mr Parry. We need to send a signal out to our fans and the rest of the league that we are going to mean buisness next year.
