Take it Rafa, take it  :buttrock

£9m for Bellamy is a GREAT deal and hopefully we can use him as a make weight for Tevez.

Delighted to see that it looks like Momo, Xabi and Pepe are signing new deals. That was always going to be a priority when Rafa was on holiday. Now he's back in the office we can start to bring in these new players we crave for. I am hopeful of seing some action today!! Hicks DID say by the end of the week....

Mind you that could also mean tomorrow or Sunday I suppose

refutes those claims from people who say Henry would never move to Italy due to the racist element of some supporters.  Henry is no different to other players or fans.  He knows which clubs are the biggest and must have his own personal favourties. Is it really any surprise to hear him say "I cannot deny it's nice to hear about Milan"?

Not really, Do you think he would say, 'No chance i don't care if Milan are interested, i'd never go to an Italian side i think they are all Racist'?
Its the usual bland remark of all fotballers when asked about a supposed interest.

Some Simao news in here:

Lyon officials have angrily rebuffed an initial bid from Barcelona for full-back Eric Abidal.

The Spanish giants have reportedly offered 9million (£6million) for Abidal, a fee much less than Lyon are determined to receive.

Lyon value the France international defender at 20million (£13.5million) and they are unwilling to relent.

"We have closed the door, it is over," said l'OL head of communications Olivier Blanc.

"We have told them that with the present circumstances no negotiation is possible."

Meanwhile, Benfica's Portuguese international Simao Sabrosa is rumoured to be interesting the French champions.

A Bola reports that negotiations between the two sides are at an advanced stage, although Benfica are holding out for a minimum of 15million Euro's (£10m).

............................

Barca are taking the mick. £6 million for Abidel.  Thats a shockingly low bid.

I dont think Rafa wants to pay £10m Simao

bit more news on Malouda there, confirms that ourselves and Chelsea have been in contact but no official bid still. He wants to go to the club that "desires" him most.

I like the way he talks of us, he says chelsea have drogba and the rest but liverpool have a great manager plus champions league final twice in three years. It suggests that he favours us if we can just make an approach I reckon we can snare him soon :)

You get racists anywhere, italy is bad for it but you also get it in turkey, spain, etc.

It's not a nice thing but I suppose players have to ignore the minority and shut people up by playing well.

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez wants to sign West Ham striker Carlos Tevez -- at all costs. The People says the Spanish chief has set up the move with Tevez's handlers, but the price has gone up to 25 million pounds because of his success in the Hammers' survival.

some more rumours....

Liverpool striker Craig Bellamy is hoping for a shock return to former club Newcastle United.

The Welsh striker has been linked with a move away from Anfield this summer after scoring nine goals in 42 appearances for the Reds last season. Bellamy has been linked with a move to Aston Villa. However, the striker appears to favour a move back to Newcastle if at all possible.

The striker would cost in the region of £9 million, which could rule Newcastle out of the move. However, a swap deal for Michael Owen may satisfy all parties.

----

Mauro Pederzoli, Liverpool's Italian agent has admitted that talks between Juventus and Liverpool took place earlier this summer for striker David Trezeguet.

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is believed to be on the lookout for a big name striker to help the club challenge the premiership next season and has been linked with the likes of Samuel Eto'o, David Villa and Thierry Henry.

Now Pederzoli has confirmed that Benitez made a move for David Trezeguet, however Juventus wanted Xabi Alonso as part of the deal.

Speaking to Teleradiostereo, Pederzoli said:

"In the market, we are trying for a quality forward.
"We have been following Trezeguet, but we couldn't consider a swap involving Xabi Alonso. He is simply not for sale. He's a fundamental piece on the chessboard of Rafa Benitez."

Bellamy to the Hammers as part of a swop for Tevez. Great for us, a disaster for Bellamy (end of top flight career?)

I must say, I like that 1st team on the lads signature, its boss. :D

I don't understand how people can think a deal that would see Tevez exchanged with Bellamy is possible, Tevez is onwed by MSI not West Ham, the deals would be separate to one another.

Swap Owen for Bellamy, and then take Tevez on the same deal that we took Mascherano. That deal has satisfied the FA, Liverpool and MSI, the only problem being no-one apart from them seems to know precisely what the deal is.   :D

Well that would be a good deal! but all we know is that MSI own Tevez therefore it wouldn't be possible to swap Bellamy + cash.

I think he'd move anywhere on the same terms as Mascherano, purely because I don't think MSI would want to cash in just yet.
