Doesn't go to his rival Liverpool, but considers offers from Manchester City and Chelsea.  Chelsea also rivals of United, and the other a derby team, I'd hardly call that respect.

Mate the rivalry between us and the mancs is as big as you will find in football, especialy considering we are now level on league titles won.
Teves said out of respect to the fans he wouldnt talk/sign for their biggest rivals, you dont believe him?
But Owen, a player who came up though the ranks, someone who has (should of had) LFC in his blood just like us fans and a player who went on to be adored by us and was a true Anfield great had no problem, not even a second thought.
You think there is nothing wrong with that then fine, maybe now owens gone there we should give Teves another call.

Owen is definitely more in the wrong than Tevez, but I just don't think Tevez showed respect by leaving Chelsea/City as the 2 only other options.  Teams like Spurs and Arsenal are decent teams that have less of a rivalry with United.

I believe Owen wanted to come Liverpool but Rafa was not interested.

What is he meant to do sign for Bolton rather than Man U because he played for us.

Yes, Arsenal used to be Mancs biggest rival but i think ours and the Mancs are different .... ESPN used to report that the biggest rivalry on earth is Liverpool vs Mancs and the second one is the barca vs RM.  Anyway, bad move by owen.

From Guillem Balague site...

According to Mundo Deportivo: “ Mascherano has also instructed his representatives to begin a formal dialogue with Liverpool in order to persuade them to sell him to Barcelona. As well as being attracted by the possibility of playing for the European Champions, he has also had his head turned by compatriot Lionel Messi who has been making him very jealous with tales of the fantastic lifestyle in Catalunya.” According to MD, Mascherano and his family have been unable to settle in England and a combination of the bad weather and lifestyle in England has had Mr Mascherano, Mrs Mascherano and all the little Mascheranos yearning for some stale bread with tomato rubbed on it.

According to Marca, Mascherano`s “increasingly likely” move to Barcelona has effectively scuppered Real Madrid`s chances of signing Xabi Alonso; while AS are reporting that there are at least 47 million other reasons why Liverpool`s Spanish midfielder will not be going to the Bernabeu – €47 million roughly translates as the conversion rate of the £40 million transfer fee that Liverpool have slapped on Alonso.

AS are also reporting that Alvaro Arbeloa`s agent, Manuel Garcia Quilon, has effectively agreed personal terms on behalf of the player with Real Madrid, but that the Spanish side are only willing to part with €4 million for the Liverpool player`s services; Anfield have valued Arbeloa at €9 million, according to AS

If Masch does want to go and Balague is right then thank god Parry is gone, cos then that means we might actually get a decent transfer fee for him! We should definitely hold out for a huge fee for fim in excess of £35m cos hes one of if not the best holding midfielder in the world at the moment!

Also agree with the alonso situation, if Real want him that bad we owe them big time from the Michael Owen saga where he was sold for a minimum fee and the Bernabeu grass cutter (nunez)!! We ahve to hold out for a hug efee there too, i would quote the same, in excess of £35m as they forked out $80m for ronaldo and another huge fee for kaka!

Its time we stopped being dictated by these arrogant spanish clubs!!!!

There seems to be a lot of gossip of us getting Henry from Barca, and the other major signing being Silva.

I'd be happy with that!!  :D

Henry has said the only english club he will play for is arsenal , he and stevie are good mates though . I like the silva rumor , if we can keep our spine and add silva to it , i'm sure we will win it next season

It may be that Henry makes up part of the Masch deal.  I don't want to lose him, but a decent wedge plus Henry (or Toure) would soften the blow!

That is correct, I remember Henry saying that he would play for Liverpool before he moved abroad to Barca.

I think Henry + 20 million is a fair deal for Masch ... Leaves us that money to replace him and get a world class striker which we need aswel.
