I hope we don't get Riera, he didnt impress much at City and wouldn't be any better than Babbel, £9.5m would be a waste nevermind £19m!

Mind you, as spanish correspondant,  I'm lurking Foro che, sort of Valencia's Newkit. So far, no rumours concerning Liverpool and Silva.

Barcelona are after him, they say.

Looks like ex Liverpool staff Paco Herrera knows how to negotiate

INTER, Two big near to farewell?

Dejan Stankovic and Maicon (this last one has been the first to call Mancini after the exoneration), could leave Inter. The Serbian seems to have received an offer from Liverpool, while the brazilian, that has not still renewed with nerazzurri, is so much appreciated by Barcelona and Chelsea. If Mancini should to Chelsea transfer, is so easy that the player will follow the manager.

Villa: "If I'm a sub in the Euro, I'll accept it".

That attitude is the kind of thing we need. Well said.

About his future, translated

"It's been a while since I don't talk with my agent, and I don't want to waste a single second in stop and answering any question about my future. My future is today, tomorrow, and the next day, and then making a great Euro cup. I'll think later about it. As of now, I don't think nor I don't talk about my future".

Which I'd read as

"I plan to score a lot of goals this summer, and my agent has told me that my wages can only grow if I wait and I do a great competition".

When it comes to Villa, it seems we won't see signings in the next few days.

I thought Maicon signed a new contact?  Well he would be a great signing for us, if he does want to leave Inter.  I know that Rafa has been keeping an eye on his situation.

Liverpool rival Gunners in £12million chase
07:45 May, 29, 2008
Liverpool Football Club plan to win the race for a £12million Premier League star

Portsmouth midfielder Niko Kranjcar has been linked with a move to Arsenal for the past few months, with Arsene Wenger likely to lose Alexander Hleb during the summer transfer window.

The Croatian international has stressed he is happy at Fratton Park but admits he longs to play in the UEFA Champions League, and he is also said to be attracting interest from Rafael Benitez.

The Anfield boss is eager to spend heavily ahead of the new season as he looks to end an eighteen-year wait for the league title, and he is willing to match the Gunners all the way for Kranjcar.

Liverpool and Spurs bid for £10m centre back: Is Ramos’s need greater?

May 29, 2008

Spurs fans can see that any signings that Ramos desperately needs to make would be in defence, especially given Ledley King’s injury problems. Therefore, whilst Liverpool may consider themselves a little light in terms of cover, it does seem the north London outfit may be in more need of the recent transfer target named below.

Deportivo have rejected a bid for £10m rated centre back Fabricio Coloccini (La Voz de Galicia) and it has been suggested that the bid came from either Tottenham or Liverpool

26-year-old Argentine international Coloccini has been a rock in the heart of Deportivo’s defence over the past four years but now it seems he is looking for a step upwards. Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona are also supposedly interested but it’s been reported that former Boca Junior star wants to give the Premier League a shot. So do Liverpool or Spurs fans like the look of the no-nonsense centre back? And which side is in most need of his signature?

Liverpool co-owners agreed over Benitez shopping list
tribalfooball.com - May 27, 2008

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez's summer shopping list has been approved by warring co-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett.

The Daily Mail says both are onside with the transfer targets agreed with manager Benitez and chief executive Rick Parry, who must now deliver them.

Liverpool close in on £25m man who could make Rafa’s men title chasers

May 28, 2008

Liverpool are once again supposedly nearing the signing that could well put them back in the title race as Rafa looks for a strike partner who fits well with the fantastic Fernando Torres, and this woudl really be a match made in heaven!

Valencia stars David Villa and David Silva have revealed they are prepared to leave El Mestalla this summer if the club accepts bids from chasing clubs. (Setanta Sports) Liverpool are said to be favourites to land the £25m rated Spanish international hotshot (various)

David Villa is the real deal, a proven striker with a prolific record in one of the best leagues in the world and perhaps most importantly he has scored his mountain of goals despite not plying his trade with either of the big two in Spain. The 26 year old works well with El Nino at international level and i think it wouldn’t be too much of an overstatement to say that the potential partnership of Torres and villa would be the best in the Premier League. Do Liverpool fans think that Villa could be the signing that puts them back in the title hunt?

Liverpool so very close to £9m man: Could be a very intelligent signing!

May 28, 2008

When Rafa sets his sights on a transfer target he very rarely lets go, so news of a possible stalling on the impending transfer of a very talented fullback should hopefully be overcome in the next few days.

Liverpool may need to up their bid for Italian full-back Andrea Dossena this week from £6m to £9m, after competition from Fiorentina and Juventus ignited a bidding war. (Various)

26 year old left back Dossena, who has just missed out on a Euro 2008 trip (which could benefit Liverpool greatly as he gets to have a well deserved rest after helping Udinese to another season of UEFA Cup football) is a must admired talent so its no surprise that all and sundry are after the Italian international. Should Rafa up his bid to get the left back? Or do Liverpool fans think there are other talents more worthy of splashing the cash on?

Man United full back Patrice Evra could leave the club this Summer should he fail to put pen to paper and sign a new contract with the Reds.

There surely won't be any shortage of clubs ready to snatch up the player who has been dubbed "the best full back in the world today". It is thought that the likes of AC Milan, Inter, Real Madrid Barca, and even the other big three in England could try snatch up the former Monaco star.
