Real Madrid are preparing a January bid for Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva according to Radio Marca.

Lucas has impressed during his rare appearances for the Merseyside club but has failed to nail down a first team place at Anfield and Madrid are prepared to offer the player more first team football at the Santiago Bernabeau.

Leiva joined the club from Brazilian club Gremio for a believed to be in the region of £8 million and the 21-year old has drawn some high praise from fans and pundits across Europe.

It would be a real shame to see Lucas leave the Premier League so soon after joining the Reds because he has to ability to become a top player in the Premier League. I just hope this is speculation but you know what they say, there's no smoke without fire.

Not a chance.

The fact that we've not long signed Lucas should be enough to make this rumour a non-starter, but then take into consideration that he's looked a very good prospect and we'd be foolish to consider selling him.

I'm sure somewhere down the line SABRE will confirm that the radio station in question is also part of the newspaper of the same name that is very pro Real Madrid and is quite notorious for spouting shite like this!

Forget about this one and concern yourself with other matters would be my advice here.

Rafa is keeping a little eye on Royston Drenthe status at Real Madrid, the player has been make noises about his lack of first team football. Real Madrid insist the player is not for sale but behind close doors things are happening. Drenthe has talked about english football with national team mates Babel & Kuyt and now Liverpool think he could solve a problem position on the left of midfield. If this deal comes through then it could spell the end of Harry Kewells injury plague career, this has not been helped by the player not wishing to discuss a new contract until the summer. Fulham are one club that have already stated a interested in the Aussie.

??? hope for liverpool this wont happend... :(

Isnt he a very good player ?

He looked one of the best players in the u21 championships and can play left back or midfield.

sky sports:

A trio of Premier League sides dispatched scouts to run the rule over Ajax striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar at the weekend.

The likes of Manchester United and City, along with Liverpool, all wanted to know how the Holland international is performing.

They are unlikely to be have been disappointed with Huntelaar after he netted a brace in Ajax's convincing 6-1 romp over AZ Alkmaar.

Huntelaar, 24, has been capped nine times by his country and has an impressive 55 goals from just 66 appearances for the Amsterdam giants following his switch from Heerenveen.

I dont think Drenthe will be good enough for Liverpool. He haves a big mouth and wants to much.
He was good in the U21 Championship but thats it. he was not great for feyenoord. But maybe im wrong..

and about Huntelaar...why wher they dissapointed?

I heard ther wher lots of english scouts over here with the match ajax-az.(Manchester united, manchester city, Liverpool, Blackburn Rovers,Sunderland and tottenham hotspurs)
So who does Liverpool wants? i dont think they want Huntelaar cause they have enough strikers i think or not?

Transfer speculation: Lauri Dalla Valle to Liverpool

14/01/2008 08:39:26.

the Spanish manager is busily working to secure the club’s present (Martin Skrtel) and its future (Lauri Dalla Valle)"
speculation 'facts'
Player: Lauri Dalla Valle
From: Jippo
To: Liverpool
Cost: Undisclosed
Source: Various
Likely?: 5/5

Rumours about Rafael Benitez’s future refuse to go away – the most recent flurry coming after sources at Bayern Munich hinted that the Liverpool job had indeed been offered to Jurgen Klinsmann – yet the Spanish manager is busily working to secure the club’s present (Martin Skrtel) and its future (Lauri Dalla Valle).

Liverpool had long been following the young Finnish forward. Two years ago, academy recruitment manager Malcolm Elias had already made his first trip to try and coax him to sign but the player and his parents were undecided.

He had already been at Inter – his mother being Italian apparently helped him decide on that destination – yet had quickly returned home after failing to settle. They wanted to choose their next destination carefully.

Clearly eager to sign the player yet unwilling to press too hard, he was invited to a tour of the club’s academy late last year. Once there he even trained with Kevin Keegan who had been brought in to give the young forwards some additional coaching.

The move paid off. Impressed by the set-up, he decided to move to Liverpool and as from the first of January he moved to Liverpool’s academy from his local side Jippo.

I wondered what had happened to him, I thought the deal was done and dusted a while ago, hopefully now it is.

Well it's more than a rumour but I think it will be irrelevant. According to Marca, and directly from Atletico sources, they have made an offer for Sissoko. I don't think Atletico will be able to match the Juventus offer though. Good to see Sissoko has more than one offer, that's good for the club.

:oh:

I've said it once and I'll say it again, Huntelaar and Torres upfront would be AWESOME!

I think we'd be looking at £15+ though and with the way G&H are with money at the moment I can't see that happening, especially when we haven't yet been given the go ahead to sign Mascherano  :(
