Overheard some people talking about Klass-Jan Huntelaar of Ajax who has apparently agreed (in principle) to join us next season for approx £9mil on a 5 year contract. Seems that Ajax have already accepted a deal with Liverpool FC.

All i can find on this fella is that he is 23yrs old and his preferred position is as a forward.

Anyone else got more info on this one?

He scored 18 goals in 22 league games for Ajax but as they only signed him last season for £6.5Million I cant see him moving on so soon.

Better rumour than the usual p*sh talking about Alves, Kuyt, Anelka and Pennant anyway!!

I know nothing about this guy but I will have my spies in Holland investigate and report back. :cool:

I'ts also on www.football-rumours.com. , saying more or less the same thing.
I would take it with a big pinch of salt , as the rumours on this forum are generaly poo and rather wild and unsubstanciated.

At a restaurant but didn't exchange any pleasantries. Was thinking of asking them about it but decided not to interupt their meal.

Never seen this lad play and I don't think his scoring record in a second rate league like Holland really tells us much to be honest.

Know the name, have seen little snippets of him when I watch the odd highlights of Ajax, but can't really offer an opinion on that. Rated very highly at Ajax. He scored 34 goals in 46 league games for Heerenveen before Ajax bought him last season, and obviously continued his good form.

9mn is ridiculous money IMO, but he's only 22 and talented youngsters cost megabucks these days.

i know a few Dutch ppl an whenever they talk about football this fellas name always seems to pop up, from what ive heard he's one of their best players.

I know what you mean JC, but Palleta was bought from a not fantastic league so if all is true about this fella then Rafa must rate him highly.

I heard about this guy and have seen very small amounts of him, he is tall and stong, he has scored a lot of goals and is at a prime age of 22, but havent seen enough to make a judgement.
