for £50m and 27 years old, he shouldnt have to adapt, its that simple. If he was younger then I could understand such patience but he already looks short of a yard or two and age isn't going to help him. Lawro said against the Mancs on Tuesday he has to play Drogba down the middle with Anelka and Malouda either side, I completely agree. P!ssing around with the side to accomodate Torres is going to hurt them, not that they'll have much to play for after Tuesday mind :D

and another thing...Did anyone watch MOTD last night? Torres had the ball at the half way line, turned passed the defender and ran towards the goal, he shot from about 10 yards and it was pretty tame. It reminded me of the goal he scored against Man U when he took the ball about 6 foot away from VDS before putting it away. Sign of short confidence and the defender wasn't getting left behind like Torres normally does

Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

The guys on Soccer Saturday were saying yesterday that the Chelsea squad did a sprint test in the last couple of weeks he was the SLOWEST outfield player ???

He must be carrying some sort of injury that hes keeping stum about. I really am starting to believe he realized he was done had a word with Kenny and is now in on the greatest football con ever  :D

Maybe he is pretending to be injured so that everybody feels bad for him and realizes he's been injured, that's why he sucks.  NOt just because he sucks.

it's obvious he's lost a yard of pace. Before his last major injury he could out run everyone in the league....now he'd be even money to beat Jan Molby in a sprint to the chip shop

Haha Seriously... His career may very well be over.  We may be the luckiest club in the world at this point.  If that injury is having a long-term affect, then he won't be the player he used to be.  Ya, he'll break his scoring duct, but that doesn't mean he's going to be scoring 20 goals a season.  At this rate he'd be lucky to get 10, and I wouldn't consider that successful for 50 million pounds.

Only place left for him the way he is would be Italy IMO.

The 'he's adapting' excuse is bollox, Drogba had to adapt but he was coming from a different league and level of football. Torres has been here since 2007.

It's "Epic Swindle 2: This Time We Screwed The Russians!!!" :D

mmmmm

Abramovich has paid 60million € for Torres. He can't sell him for 20-25million next year.
