raúl meireles: fine signing by #LFC. more of a box-to-box type than mascherano though takes defensive responsibility likes to break forward, mobile & dynamic, moves well around the pitch. more suited to the english game than f.i. aquilani imo + hardworking, disciplined guy - chips in with the odd goal. more known for his quantity than quality, yet a decent signing

By the way, how come we can afford to spend 10 mil on this guy. I thought the board were asset stripping and we wouldn't even have 17 pence to spend despite the sale of Mascherano?

He is your old fashioned box to box mid!
A bit more defensive than offensive. Very well rounded player, doesnt really have a main weakness.
Will sit alongside Gerrard beautifully
