He's just doing what every modern manager does in that situation, protects the players and puts a gloss on the situation. Everyone from Houllier onwards (even Kenny) has been lambasted for it but it's the modern way.
They are taught to speak without actually saying anything so as not to give the Sunday Papers any headlines. The days of the likes of Clough and Allison firing from the hip in press conferences are well gone.

hmmm......... after the way he gave the newspaper all the headlines they wanted by throwing balotelli under the bus (and even mignolet too).... I really do think that Rodgers genuinely thinks that sterling had a good game.

He was better second half when out wide. He can't cross for shyte though but got himself into some good positions.
Also thought from the link i was watching he could have slid at markovic's pass rather than stretch at it.

Thought I'd read something about him getting a few already against manure.

Just what the fk did he do that was so impressive. POOR FINISHER - REALLY POOR DECISION MAKER - AND NO MATCH WINNER !! Just a greedy little ....

Don't know what you were looking at. He was just about swimming when most of the team were drowning. If thats having a good game then then we really are fkd  :(

He has some great qualities but some awful ones as well. I shudder at the thought of how many one on ones he has fu'cked up...

Sturridge would have scored that, Sterling actually got a foot to it but tried to control it instead of lunging forward and steering it into an empty net.

Devaney, I just happen to think he created the most danger today when he ran at them and any good phases we had involved Sterling. He won us a penalty and would have scored but for that poor pass by Marko. Given that he was isolated a lot, I thought he played well. It was our defence that cost us more.

Oh yes Sterling put in a World class performance. Now how many goals did he score NONE. What was the result Err Arsenal 4 (FOUR) Liverpool 1. Some people on here are getting Delusions of Grandeur. Time for a reality check and if he himself actually thinks he's worth more than 100K a week he should be sectioned

the mispass by marko was almost as bad as missing an opening goal.
watch the replay, there is no chance a pro can miss-passed that.
