The Premiership - General Discussion

That was a compete dive from Townsend for that pen from Shelvey. No contact at all.

Spurs start spending a lot of money, and are already getting the calls their way. Two wins from two pens...

It wasn't harsh, it was a nonexistent penalty. Townsend dived.

But Spurs were denied a penalty at the end of the first half. Shelvey this time as well tackled someone just inside the penalty area but the ref thought it was outside so no penalty was given.

Not very impressed by Tottenham's attacking capabilities at all. Soldado doesn't look very suited to the English game even though he scored 2 goals (penalties). It's still early days but from what I've seen in these two games, we and Spurs are very equal despite their huge investment this summer.

Have to laugh at City. I didn't see the game so I don't know how good Cardiff were but City can't lose like this if they want the title.

City had one shot on goal the whole first half! Their first team costs the same as the GDP for a small African nation FFS!! Their defenders went AWOL for Campbell, laughable..
I expect a backlash in their next game though, and Cardiff to get a new ***** torn in the return leg.

I thought minutes 60-80 were actually pretty good, but other than that it was two clubs trying to keep a clean sheet.

Boring Sh*t. Can't believe I spent my evening watching that.

I also can't believe that the mancs are complaining about Lampard's handball in the box, when Cleverley was just 3 yards away when he tried the volley. That's not a penalty IMO but I've seen them given. Really surprised that it wasn't given at OT though.

I can't believe you spent your evening watching it either   :D

Three great results over the weekend, a win for us, City dropping 3points and Man U/Chelsea picking up just a point  :buttrock

A good result when we meet the Mancs and we can truly say this season we're off to a flyer

It was your typical early season game between the top teams - no one risking too much too early with the defences on top.

That was a rubbish game last night, I actually nodded off for a bit during the second half.

Van Persie was out of sorts and Mourinho's 'tactic' of playing without a proper striker and trying to hit long balls for Schurrle's late runs every time was odd.  I do think Chelsea have a bit more steel about them this year though and will be in the mix with City and United for the title.  Rooney had a good game from what I saw.

If Rafa had of selected that side Mourinho did last night he would have been hammered for it in the media.
However as it was Jose it was a good way to grab a point.
