Manchester United's multi-million pound football stars returned to training sporting new cars.

13 Aug 2008

Old Trafford players including Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand and Gary Neville appeared to have traded in their old cars for new models when the players returned to training at Carrington, near Manchester.

But despite rumours Cristiano Ronaldo had splashed out on a £340,000 Rolls Royce phantom to celebrate his decision to stay with the club, he was the only first team player to turn up without a new car.

The United striker was hoping to join other Phantom drivers Simon Cowell and David Beckham.

Rooney added to his already extensive car collection with a brand new black BMW X5, which he favoured over his usual mode of transportation - a Bentley.

While Ronaldo was forced to arrive in his usual silver Bentley, Ferdinand sported a new Silver Mercedes CLK DTM AMG and Neville showed off an Audi Q7.

Paul Scholes and Owen Hargreaves both arrived at training with new Audi S8s while Tevez stood out in a new white Bentley Continental GT.

Wes Brown favoured a new exclusive model Porsche complete with private number plate.

One on-looker said: "Everyone had ben going on that Ronaldo had a new car but he was the only one not to have traded his in.

"He was the odd one out."

The only time we need to hear about a UTD player and their car is if they wrap it round a lampost!

Not so sure 9er, y´know those lads and lasses at the Olympics are far better athletes than these footballers, on 1% of their money and maintain their modesty and behaviour. Its interesting how footballers react, spend obscene amounts of money on flashy things and become all arrogant, hiding the fact they´re not real athletes.
