Manchester United have agreed a British-record £30m fee with Leeds for England defender Rio Ferdinand!

Question - can the extraordinary level of transfer fees and players salaries be justified?

I know players only have a limited working life but their incomes are now so disproportionate is this acceptable?

Do you believe we should have join Man'Ure and tried to get Ferdinand? Is he worth 30 million? Do we have the ability to spend 30 million on a single player.. do we have 30 million?

I hate the way Ferg taps up players but you gotta admit, it works.
