tomorrows telegraph is about carroll wanting to stay at anfield.
rodgers is having a laugh if he thinks a 21 year old who has played less than 50 career games is going to take us into the CL, even if he is one of his mates from chelsea.
hope andy digs his heels in and fights for his place.

Carroll as the front man with Suarez and someone like Adam Johnson out with also.
For me in no way is Dempsey as clever or a tidy link player like Maxi.
I agree that Suarez and another player coming from wide linking up with a front man would be good. But when we put our best team out I would hope that neither Carroll or Dempsey would be in it.
Yes but Chelsea have played that system with Drogba a target man as the striker to feed off that service in the 4-3-3. If Carroll leaves or is on the bench all season with Suarez as that player I don't think it will work because as we saw last season when Carroll was left out and balls kept pinging into the box Suarez struggled to score many goals like that. Look at the Brighton FA Cup game probably the best performance in any game last season look at Suarez's goal Carroll and him in the box in a 4-4-2 system with midfielders joining them in the box. Carroll headed it back Suarez scored.
Suarez thrives with his back to goal outside of the box running at defenders linking with other players to create chances and score goals. We should be looking at improving the supply line around Suarez in midfield and the wide right position so that the system with Suarez and Carroll can get better. Switching to 4-3-3 with just Suarez as the main striker will be more of the same from last year just like in the first sixty minutes against Chelsea at Wembley.

I’m assuming and hoping that Suarez won’t be playing as the furthest man forward next season and we will be brining in another striker whether Carroll stays of leaves.
And in regards to the poor FA Cup final performance, I would say that was down to very poor tactical play more than anything. Gerrard was indisciplined in his positioning beyond belief, even dropping deeper than both central midfielders and leaving Suarez totally isolated, and on top of that neither Bellamy or Downing got close to Suarez. We setup to counter attack that day but we executed it like a pub team.

I can quite believe that Allardyce would want to play hoof football with Carroll as his main striker. It's apparent that Rodgers is trying to encourage other foreign clubs to take Carroll away for a year to bump up the price. Rodgers will look silly if Carroll does to go to West Ham score 20 goals and they finish just behind us in the table with us finishing eighth again.

you know what mate rodgers has done my head in the way he treated carroll, he`s questioning wether carroll`s style suits his philosophy but one of the biggest hoof merchants at the club is carragher but rodgers is up his @rse constantly praising him and telling everyone how he`s the heart and soul of the club and what a great pundit he was on telly and how carragher is just like him watching 6 games back to back on a sunday and all that palava.
bunglemark2 » Tue Jul 10, 2012 10:16 pm wrote:Maybe this is reverse psychology from Rodgers, making Carroll fight for his place? Then again, if it is, splashing it all over the media is a bloody stupid way to do it.
And maybe we all have it ar$eways and there's no substance to any of these Carroll rumours...I hope it's the latter. I'd give him the chance to prove his worth. We know there was a hefty price tag but maybe Carroll will come good after the initial pressure for a bucket load of goals is now off.
